Default Oil filter part number and substitutes.

Which AC Delco Oil filter is the correct filter for the C-6? PF-44? and or what are some other brands part numbers that are equivalent? Can you get these at any other place besides the Chevy dealership or at Walmart yet?

PF-46. The PF-44 has been discontinued. I used a Fram PH3506 on my first oil change.

Thanks PF-46 and can you get this anywhere else but the dealership? The Fram PH3506 you can probably get at Walmart right?

I got the Fram at Wal Mart only because it was Sunday and the dealer wasn't open.

An excellent choice is the K&N HP1007. It flows much better than anything made by AC Delco, including the Ultraguard UPF44. Flow is more critical than filtration if you drive at full throttle a lot.

But the oil filter part is PF 46 now and no longer PF 44.
