How long the lights stay on after leaving the vehicke is user programable. REdo your Personal Settings in your DIC

Melting Slicks
Mine did the same thing about a month ago, and in fact they wouldn't even shut off when driving at night with headlamps on. took to dealer, and they fixed pronto. not sure what they did.

I had that happen twice - I about panicked the day I brought the car home. I don't know the exact sequence, but I think it had to do with turning the car off, walking away with the FOB in my pocket - then returning to the car and only using the ACC mode (not starting the car). Then turning the ACC mode off and walking away.
I found that by going back and starting the car, then turn it off in the proper manner and walking away made everything happy again.

Safety Car
You activate the lights by pushing the dimmer switch, push it again to turn them off. Each side can also be activated individually by pushing the button on the rear view mirror for the respective side. To dim the dash lights you turn the dimmer switch and hold and the lights begin to ramp up or down in intensity depending on wich way you turn the ****. Release at the desired level.

Why make it so complicated?
It should be turn on and turn off simple as that. Don't know why they made this simple function a complicated thing that will wear out your bulbs and battery faster.

In use it is no more complicated than the next (modern) car. When the active steering in my wifes car went out I ended up talking to an engineer from BMW and we jawed for some time about the car from stem to stern. I complained about some of the features that I thought were more gee whiz than useful and one of them was the intricate lighting. He told me that folks percieve the car as having higher qualitly and better engineering when the lights use fades to turn off and other such trickery. My guess is we are seeing this in the C6 for the same reason.

It's not complicated if you want to use it one way all the time. Just pick the method that suits you.
Don't see how it's going to wear out your bulbs any faster if you turn them on when you want and off when you want.
