when it is hid away you still do see it be aware of that. the braket it slides on has to come out past the car for the plate to come up

RPI any chance you saw my PMs? I'm hoping to resolve the issue of these being flimsy when you flip them up.

I have the Show N Go mounted center on my 2005 C6. The problem with this is that in order for the plate to clear the point of the nose and then flip up. It has to be mounted forward so that the entire mechanism is visible. It sucks. What Corvette owners need is a system with a 2 stage mast mechanism. This would allow it to be mounted further back on the bumper cover so it's not visible at all. I have pics but am not quite sure how to insert them here. Anyone who wants a pic can PM me. One thing for sure, I would not mount it with just two screws. Mounting it like that is very flimsy and unsecure. I got a small piece of 1/4" flat aluminum and drilled 4 holes and used fender washers on the inside of the bumper cover with stainless fasteners and mounted the bracket to that. It's much more solid than mounting it the way the manufacture says.

Default Not in Texas

They are ilegal in Texas and you will get a ticket, state law. No flip up automatics and they have to be the mounted furtherest foward on the vehicle. Approximately $200 ticket and no dismissal. So you Texans, watch out, good way for a town or county to rake in resources.

Live in one of those states that require a front plate? Don't want to chance getting a ticket? Then check out our new C6 RETRACTABLE front license plate bracket.

With this retractable plate holder you can hide your ugly front plate within seconds, simply fold it down and stow away. If your on the road just pull it out and flip it up, no more tickets and no more hassle from the authorities. Installation requires just two small holes to be drilled under the front bumper which cannot be seen when/if removed.

These are just $49.95...and save 10% with coupon SS2007.

I bought the motorized version, and it didn't last a month before it broke. It is not very well constructed, and the cable arrangement on it is very Mickey Mouse.
