Thanks for the info but we already knew http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1126926&page=2

Still many here don't think that car is anything but a regular Z06 with black wheels.

Yup, I said that. The regular production C6 Z06 did it. Maybe GM will announce it along with saying there will be no gas guzzler tax.

Like a magazine has never been wrong before. Why would GM be testing an "officially" unannounced product on the ring and have those numbers "leak" out, when the already announced product, which was supposed to be at the ring during the same time frame undergoing final testing?

makes sense..but I surely hope its the blue devil...

but for a blue devil the 7:40 mark is not that good especially when they are talking about a significant price increase... (the sad part)
and considering (another yellow's info is right for Z06 to be @ 7:43), 3 secs for 100 more hp and some more weight loss, if the Z06 is 43 then the BD should be no more than 7:35-36...just my thought..

Magazines having been previously wrong in general has absolutely no bearing on this particular piece of information. Magazines have also been dead-on before. That, in an of itself, is not evidence of anything other than the imperfection of magazine reporting.

Why would GM be testing an "officially" unannounced product on the ring
To see what it can do. That's what testing is for.

and have those numbers "leak" out
How is that a leak? You're a photographer, you stand next to the track, and you time a lap of the car you're watching. That's not a leak, that's reporting.

when the already announced product, which was supposed to be at the ring during the same time frame undergoing final testing?
The existence (or lack) of a similar car being tested also has no bearing on this one.

End of discussion.

Since when did Auto Car Magazine become the foremost authority for Corvettes. You are a bunch of idiots if you believe a Blue Devil will only make 600bhp and be 16-second faster than the old C5Z06. Use your brains you morons.
