Default While You're Waiting, Read the Manual

Here is a fun way to while away the days (weeks, months?) while GM putz's around with your Z06 (VIN #504, still waiting). Go to the GM owner center online, and study up on the 2006 Corvette Owner's Manual, which includes Z06-specific items (there is only one Manual for all 2006 models). Just set yourself up as a proud new 2006 owner. The Manual is in PDF format, so you can word search for particular subjects, download the whole thing, etc. Interesting factoid - it says the rev limiter is at 7100, not 7000 rpm for the Z06, and that you should read the warranty before you use it in competitive racing.

It did not recognize my vin because it hasn't been invoiced or shipped, but I was able to register anyway.

Added to the FAQ. Since you need a VIN, can someone email the pdf to me?

You don't need a VIN - just follow the instructions for doing it without a VIN.

I wish I had known you could do that, I bought one from helminc.com 3 weeks ago just for the heck of it.

They only have a link for buying the service manual in hardcopy, no download available.

The owner's manual is available for download.

One thing I noticed in the '06 getting to know your corvette book is that to turn off the engine you need to put it in 1st or reverse...

Wasn't it just reverse for '05?

Has anybody found the navigation manual online? The one thing I wanted to read about and learn ahead of time (The nav)... I can't... because it says "refer to navigation manual." Heh.

Thanks,
Andi
