What is the standard gear ratio for a c5 Z06 vs a C6 z06?

Are they both 3.42?

So the Z06 doesn't actually use the traditional "Z06" (Z51) tranny then? Hmm. I wondered why when I plugged in the figures on a gear calculator, it wasn't capable of 60 mph in 1st gear! That would explain things!

Right. It uses the ratios of the base car. Not that this affects the question in this thread, which was only asking about the rearend ratio.

Yeah, I just read through the FAQ thread, but thought I'd confirm that tid-bit of info back in here .

So I guess they figured the new Z06 didn't need the gearing advantage of the MN12 tranny, eh?! Figure ~475 ft-lbs are enough to get the wagon moving even with higher ratios.
