There is a bracket that attaches to the underside of the top front bumper with 3M adhesive tape. This bracket has two threaded studs that protrude down for attaching the removable license plate bracket with two wing nuts. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for asking.

Does the frame allow for an aftermarket "lense" over the plate? I want to put a smoked lense on my black Z if I were to purchase

Thanks

Installed the removable bracket on the Z06 Saturday - very easy install with the excellent instructions provided. For those in two-plate states, this is the way to go! Bracket is virtually invisible unless you get down to view the air inlet head on. With the front plate mounted, it really doesn't look that bad, far better than the factory plate holder. The little black caps to cover the small plate mounting screws when the plate is removed is a nice touch! Thanks topflightrepro!

I'm installing the Race Mesh grill on my ZO6. Does this complicate the bracket installation?

Default I'm anxious to get mine...it's en-route

I can hardly wait to see and install it (just got your e-mail that it's been shipped! I live in Northern Calif Bay Area and never planned on putting on the front license plate because I would never ever wanted to deface the front and I've never gotten a ticket for it on my C6Z06-not even a second look from any cops nor any other cars I've owned for that matter. You will never believe who gave me my first ticket on the Z... a $tupid meter maid I guess the city of Berkeley where I work really needs the revenue whatever...
Oh well, from the looks of the Z06 on your website-it doesn't look too bad, I too have the racemesh grille already installed.

Peter if you order the bracket and the frame do you have to pay both freight charges?

Unfortunately yes because of the GM frame packaging we have to charge for shipping.

Nice looking product, BUT, I do not like the interference in the air intake area. I prefer the Euro mount off to one side above the facia opening, but it will probably not work with US sized plates. So, I do not run a front plate!

And that's easy for you to say since many jurisdictions in CA do not strictly enforce the law. There are states where the front plate requirement is strictly enforced with points and penalties. Photo radar and toll booth cameras have made it an "emphasis item" in many states.

The "interference" you speak of is minimal. Since the bracket is removable, I've looked at temps both ways, and the difference is insignificant.

Default Two PLate Tickets within the first 2,500 miles

I have driven my LT-1 C4 for 146,000 Miles and was only warned twice! and once recieved a front plate ticket while parked!
With My C6-Z06, I have already been stopped twice! Given tickets each time! The first one was at a spot check on an exit ramp off I-87 that one was $85.00 the Second one was after suddenly appearing out of no where in a cops mirror on the Saw Mill river parkway! That one was $155.00 I wonder if the law has started cracking down? or is it the Velocity Yellow C6Z I am gonna stomp on your face with alot of Horse Power attitude!

I Looked at these brackets and didn't see wear I can choose the color when ordering, Should I call you guys or should I input it as special instructions with Pay Pal? Does the front plate restrict the air intake? The factory mickey mouse bracket goes onto the bumper, Not interfering with Air intake...Yeah Right! Like I would do that! I know I know, We are never happy right? Can I drive without the plate and then pop in on if I get stopped and say I forgot to put it back on when I washed the car? Is it a quick snap on after initial install?

Yes, 2 wing nuts, a 30 second install and de-install. There is plenty of area left for air intake. Take it off at the track for more.

From my post in C6 General:

Finally got to take some snaps last night after work (took the vette to work yesterday; was a relief not to having to worry about LEOs pulling me over for no front tag for a change - I work in an area where it's not uncommon to see 4-6 LEO cars during lunch hour). With the tag removed, you'd never know it was there!

Hey Ray, have you guys thought making the brackets for the Didge Viper crowd? A coworker who has a Viper saw my bracket yesterday and he said he ansd a lot of his club memebers would be very interested. Just a thought. Thanks again for a great product.
