That is not true, the Z06 GMS price on the '07 is around $58k, just did a build your own this weekend on the GM employee website, it even tells you where you can find one like you built. The problem is the dealers who until the demand drops, won't sell their Z06 for the employee price. I have bought both my Z06's at GM employee (which I am) price. BTW, buyers on the employee program are REQUIRED to keep said Corvette 2 years, our could be subject to penalties, up to and including being fired, as a previous boss of mine was.
$56,853.60 plus freight to be right on the money.

OK, I think this is the deal. More than you need to know, probably.

Old way was GMO (employee factory order) & GMS (employee from dealer stock). Order was cheaper, I think.
GMS is now the single employee discount price.

GMID is the GM In Driveway discount. It is the same as the supplier price, I believe. Per all the stuff below.

When I go into the GM Family First site with my ID & password,
and travel to the GM Buypower site (you can go there too), the final "sheet" shows me both prices. It knows who I am.
MSRP: $$$
GMS: *** $$$ (less, of course)
Nowhere are the asterisks defined.

From the Family First site, if I click on GMID to go to Buypower,
the final sheet shows
MSRP: $$$
Supplier: *** $$$ (not quite the discount as "GMS" employee price)

In Buypower, you can either "Build Your Own" or search dealerships for what you what.

"Build Your Own" shows the MSRP & GMS price on the final '06 Z06 "sticker".

"Locate Dealer" shows MSRP & GMS price on "local" listings of '06 Z06's.
5 deluxe and five "standard" in my area ( down in the Phoenix valley).

Approaching through the GMID "driveway" route shows the same 10 Z06's at the dealers.
With MSRP and "Supplier" prices.

This a nice service because it shows the overall listing, and you can bring up the actual window sticker by "clicking".

Finally. Knowing the rep of "those valley dealers", I'd think you'd play hell getting GMS or supplier. Unless you had "the goods" on the "BIG manager" or owner. I think Corvette GMS has pretty much been "dealer optional" even when GM says "OK". And, GM hasn't "always said OK" on Corvettes.

I did get GMS on my '04 Z16. And, I don't have "anything" on anybody there. I have bought other cars from them. And they know that.
Or, maybe I just look like a nice guy, eh ?

From the GM Family First site "FAQ":

What is the GM in the Driveway vehicle discount?
Individuals who participate in the GM in the Driveway program enjoy the same preferred pricing that GM suppliers enjoy.

04's were sitting on lots and you could get GMS or GMID at some dealers. The Z16's didn't move too fast.

Oops, sorry, you got there first while I was typing. Price range looks about what I remember for various cars, but, I didn't see see any '07 Vettes listed in the "build your own" yet, just '06's.
In any case your idea is correct.

True.
And why I will enjoy mine "a while longer".
Or 'til I die if the C6 Z06 prices "hold" until then.
I doubt that very much.

The Z16 is the one that will hold a better value percentage wise in the long run IMHO.

The Z's will probably start leveling off mid to late fall.

You just won the "reviving a dead thread award"!

Wow, from 2006.

You can pick up your prize (2015 C7 Z06 at GM employee pricing) at the nearest GM dealership. Just show them this post and place your order! An additional bonus is that you get a free test drive!

Who knows -- eventually they will.

When the economy was in the tank in 2009, and the c6 Zo6 was out 3 years, I bought my c6Z fall of 2009 for much less then the employee discount price. timing is everything.
