Default Les Stanford Z06 list status

I spoke with Kevin Will at Les Stanford. After placing a deposit on a Z06 2/1/6 I ended up at #398. I'm hoping for a delivery last part of 2006 or early 2007. Anyone else on the list or that has taken delivery recently?

I have been on Rick's list since 7/1/05. On June 30th, 2005, he was at #165 but somehow I got #211. From what little I have been able to gather, it would appear that I move up 10-15 spots (not necessarily orders) per month. My last email dated July 5th, 2006 stated,

"Hi Chuck,

We are at about 152 and received no allocation last week or this week due to the plant shut down for vacation. Next allocation will be next week.

Thanks,

Rick Daniel
Les Stanford Chevrolet

"

Given my current position, cancellations, and the Z06 Gods themselves, it is my hope to be driving one before winter "this" year. I can offer that it would appear that Rick is a sincere guy. Time well tell.

Chuck

Default Are you locked in at MSRP?

question for everyone that is waiting for their Z06 from Rick at MSRP. If the market on these cars has changed when it is time for you to place your order and they are offering discounts will you be locked in at msrp?

I am debating getting on the list but do not want to lock in at msrp if whenever it is time to place my order the car is going from under msrp. With a list that long it could be 2 model years before my time comes up.

Sorry, but that won't happen. #398 is more than a year away.

I disagree. I think at the big show GM will show the new SS and people will jump to that list and Z06's will start to become available not a ton but pricing will open up. My .02

no offense, but i think you guys are nuts for sitting on the wait lists at this point in the game.

all you have to do is a little leg work and you can find msrp deals all over. just ask the many people who have done just that.

unless ofcourse the wait is also somehow tied to your financial situation

ABSOLUTELY NOT , and something that bears mentioning with respect to LS and we nuts on their list. Contract language says "price not to exceed MSRP". If the market bears sub MSRP pricing at that time, I would expect LS to be competitive

I really don't mind sitting back and waiting (#401, likely spring '08
at current pace) to see exactly how the Stingray impacts the Z06 market, and if the '08 base motor goes to 450 hp, surely the '08 Z06 will get a power boost as well (although it remains to be seen if that will be more than a software mod, what with the 30 some odd HP the factory left on the table with conservative tune and/or HP rating.)

Shawn, you find me an immediate allotment for my R8C (a must), VR w/Red int. accents, 2LZ w/Nav, and comp grey wheels and I will give you $500 cash. IMHO, I think, for the most part anyway, those who found available Z's at MSRP weren't as concern for color and options as I. I called no less than 20 dealers and NONE of them would afford me a car, without waiting of course, for MSRP. Closest I ever got was 5k over.

Do I like waiting on a list, _ell no! That stated, I do like the '07 enhancements and should, God (rather) GM willing, have considerably less defects than a '06.

Finance is not the issue, that stated, lack of patience (for me at least) is not a viable reason to burn money. I plan to spend an additional 3-5K on headers, CAI, a Dyno/Tune, and lowering/alignment. Of course there is always the kids college tuition and weddings and ...

You know, maybe I am nuts? I just know what I want and I'm not willing to settle...it's all good

Default buying at MSRP

I personally think that a lot of people who post that they have bought thier Z06 for MSRP are on a waiting list. Yea they paid a deposit and are on some dealers list but this does not translate into taking delivery on a Z06. I looked at GM'S web site and typed in all the zip codes I could find and personally called over 150 dealers looking for my new
Z06. Most were 10K over some 20K over (all my local dealers) and some 30K over from rip off dealers. I found mine for only 5K over and jumped at the chance! The Z06 will not be selling for MSRP any time soon. This is why MAXI PRICE is no longer on this web site thier greed was to much (but who can blame them) It's what the market will bear. Yes you will be able to find a used one at close to MSRP (If this is what you want) Some one elses thrashed vette needing new tires, etc. Go for it! Me I wanted mine new and was willing to pay for that privalige and enjoy driving it while you are still waiting. good luck at #
(what ever).

I sat on 2 lists from 1/05 till 10/05 . I tired of waiting and found one on GM buypower for 4k over . Took delivery last november and have been having fun ever since, with the 53rd car made for customers. I wouldn't trade all the time I have been able to use this car, for the 4k either. So you get the drift. BTW I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the price to go under msrp . Its just not going to happen for another year or two. Believe it! If you get one at msrp consider yourself fortunate.....Or you were on the bandwagon early.

Might not but people at the end of that list have a longer wait then 12 months so it is possible by the time their place comes up the demand may have softened some.

I was told to expect the car in the first quarter of 2007, #398 on the list.

Anyone taken delivery recently from Les Stanford?

With 2 quarters left in 06 and them being at #152 currently (see post above) that assumes they get between 28 - 41 a month. I didn't think their allocation was that big. If it were, they'd get 336-492 over the model year run.
