Default 07 Z06 Universal Remote Programming Problems

A Friend And Myself Recently Purchased Z06 Corvettes, And Cannot Program The Universal Remote For Either Rolling Or Fixed Code Gate Openers. Since Aug 06 Gm Has Switched From Homelink To Lear Brand Systems. My 05c6 Had The Homelink System, And I Had No Problems With Programming.. Anyone Out There Have Any Advice Or Have The Same Problem???? The Lear Unit Requires That The Gate Devices Have A Learn Button, And I Don't Recall The Homelink System Requiring One....a Lot Of Gate Openers Do Not Have Learn Buttons.....

I'm buying a new garage door and opener. Sorry, but I'm really buying one.

As far as the Lear is concerned, I've had ZERO luck in getting it to work on my current Genie garage door system.

I don't know why GM changed from Homelink to Lear, I have no issues on my '07 with the Homelink

I was able to get my 07 Z06 to work with the Garage doors without a problem. I have not been able to make it work with the neighborhood Gate system though. My 05 C6 worked with the garage doors and with the gates Homelink rocks and Lear sucks

I have a genie and my lear works great. Just make sure you have the genie in learning mode.........

Well, by the responses, I guess some of us are stuck with the Lear Units....Too bad they switched, the Homelink system is superior, IMHO.....Maybe GM will switch out the 07 with the 05 Homelink system, if the guts are in the visor....I will try to find out (bitch and moan session with GM ahead).......

Please someone find out if "us Lear guys" can swap out our units for Homelinks. Where we can buy them, how much do they cost and if they are easy to install ?
