Default Fusions vs. B&B Bullets

Talked to a B&B rep and he said the fusions are just as loud as the bullets with the valves open. Just wanted to check with you guys to get your opinion. Are the fusions with the valves open just as loud as the bullets at all rpm ranges?

They should be just as loud, but I still think the Bullets may be a little louder due to the differences in the mufflers. The bullets muffler is much smaller.

I'm going to be buying/installing the B&B Bullet PRT exhaust system soon. I want a 100% open system.

IMHO, the fusions are not worth the extra cash. I've owned the bullets on my current '07 Z06 and they were too loud for my liking so I sold them to a member here on the site. The Fusions are loud , but nowhere as loud as the bullets, again, IMHO.

Enjoy!

the fusions are not as loud as the bullets.

someone posted on here that they thought the fusions were a bit too loud with the baffles closed, and not loud enough with the baffles open. I think thats spot on.

My new Fusions were a little louder than I'd like closed, but after 1000 miles they quieted down a bit (a little carbon maybe?) and I'm happy with them now. Open, they're not as loud as Bullets. Bear in mind that "closed" only occurs below 3000-3500 RPM.

Or, more likely, you got used to the sound.

I have the Fusions installed....just finished taking 3 sound clips. I can tell you with the valves open its LOUD inside the cab louder than my Srt-10 ram with headers and no cats. The door rattles and a few other parts. I'll post a review tomorrow. I hope this sound clip works...wifey stepped on the gas in parked with the valves closed.

Believe me, I considered that...but the noise that bothered me was
a loud drone inside a large indoor garage, loudest when cold. After a highway trip to Bowling Green and some local driving, its noticably quieter, cold or hot, inside that garage. More mellow. Friends have backed me up on this. I've built and/or bought a lot of exhaust systems and have a pretty good ear for these things. For my tastes, the Fusion is a good sounding system when closed but needs to be louder when open.

So the difference in the fusion is the valves?

Cant they be left open the entire time?

I thought the Fusion was specific to the Z06. I have bullets now, and would put them on the Z06 when I pull the trigger.

Sure, you could just pull the exhaust fuse and the valves remain open on either the Fusion or stock exhaust.

But is the fusion as open as the Bullets are?

Is it basically the same, just the fusion has the valve?

Can you Rec with Open valves?
And idle in Mild mode

I love your sound! Had Corsa before....hate that screaming animal!

C6 Bullets wont fit the Z06. They have specific B&B Bullets for the Z and the fusion is only for the Z06. If I had to pick between the 2 I'd get the Bullets.

I ended up picking the Z06 Corsa exhaust for mine..just ordered it Friday. MTI Racing told me that the B&Bs are very loud and drone a lot at idle and 6th gear cruise. They recommended the Corsa's and they sell all brands. Both MTI Racing and Katech prefer Corsas on there Z06 packages.

Two different sounds though..depends on what you like...a deep muscle car sound or a high pitched raspy race car sound at WOT.

You just have to deal with more drone with the B&B and Borlas.

I personally really like the Fusion. However, I also have long tube
headers. They are extremely loud with the valves open. As I have
said in the past, almost "offensively loud". I get dirty looks all the
time at stop lights, people roll up their windows, etc. I do get my
share of too!!!!!!

Thanks for all your feedback. Decided to go with the fusions. Got a good deal at Carlisle. They sound much better than stock with the valves open. I think the drone of the bullets would have been unbearable over time.
