Very well said Gary. I'm one of the few that seen Seb go, his attention to detail is second to none. There's hours upon hours of calculations involved and this along with pure driving skill is why his on top.

You can't out calculate physics. No doubt the car is approaching 2800lbs - that's not a jab and it doesn't take away from what numbers the car posted.

-35lbs for header back exhaust and -40lbs for aftermarket suspension that weren't clicked off the 29XX number that was tossed around looks a lot more like 28XX to me. But at the end of the day, what's 100lbs amongst friends?

You guys are almost as sensitive as the guys running forged motors in the SBE turbo LSx crowd.

Actually it is physics. Too many simplify it into HP/WEIGHT Ratio which is only part of the equation. Many overlook the physical attributes that generate higher MPH in a trap speed. As stated earlier, a well driven efficient car with some weight reduction should put up stellar numbers. Here are a few to think about.
Non rotating mass
Rotating mass (moment of inertia)
Shift points
Shift speed
Power shifting
Power under the curve (not overall HP or TQ)
Effectively putting the power to the ground
Rolling resistance
Aerodynamics
Barometric pressure
Air Temp
Dew point
(Notice I listed those 3 separately)
Track temp
Track prep

And to answer your question, it could be a tenth. It could be less. It could be more. This is based on which criteria you wish to invoke from above.

-40 lbs for Aftermarket suspension ???? WTF , The 9.71 where done with leaf spring and the only addition are the PFADT old adjustable sport shocks who are on the car since 2011 or so.

If you want to beleive that I'm at 2800 it's you choice.
LS7 bud ave provided there weight and it are at 3020 or so and he ran 9.81 at 142 mp/h and have a best of 144+ mp/h too.
Calculated, I'm probably at 2925 or so empty fuel.

Congrats on the 10's slip. You worked hard for it and you deserve it. Great job. Still lots of room on that 60ft so there is lots on the table

On a quest for 9's NA - car was spinning consistently all the way through 2nd on the dead toyo proxes. Broke the rear end before I got a chance to go out with the new tires being stupid and dumping the clutch at 6 grand lol.

Going back out with a built trans, built dif, fresh set of hoosiers and hopefully some good air. NINES!!

That is the FULL timeslip. They cut it in half it was a heads up event and they weren't showing the times of other cars.

Rule #2. Times that may qualify for the top-20 in each category require posting of an image of the complete time slip. If you lack the ability to post an image, contact me via PM, and I will help you. Edit for Clarification (Sep 3 2007): "time slip" means full time slip. Must include date/time of the pass and customarily includes identification of the track issuing the slip. Image should be in the vertical orientation and the numbers must be legible. Edit for Clarification (Jan 10 2011) A time slip is encouraged for all submissions as a means of improving documentation of accomplishments and increasing credibility of the Fast List.

Learning the Mantic 9000 a little better and crawled a bit further into the 10-second zone but I think I bumped the rev limiter in one gear. Always room for improvement!
