It is. Every time you load the page, your machine has to make a connection to one or all of the following:
www.google-analytics.com
www.hypemakers.net
And possibly a few others. If those remote servers are lagging, running slow, network bottlenecked, etc, then what you're going to see is a slow Corvette Forum page load.
However, if you can figure out a way to block your machine from trying to connect to those sites, then your browsing will speed up dramatically.
Trust me.

I would assume it's the video that's slowing the site down.
