Will trade one slightly used soul for 19" drag radials
Kidding about the soul part, everyone knows we lawyers don't have 'em. Does ANYONE make a 19" drag radial? I want to keep my factory wheels.

I've been checking into this pretty consistantly over the last year and as far as I know, there aren't any even in the works. I've heard excuses from sidewalls aren't big enough to not enough demand.
I'm with ya though. I'd buy two sets of 345 19's today if they were available.

19'' Drag radial
I did a search and found this post from 10/07. I was wondering if there's any news on 19'' drag radials in the making?

with the new mustangs coming out w/ factory 19's as an option i would not be surprised to see a 19'' drag radial soon to follow as they help shape the aftermarket greatly.

yes they have had 19's on those cars for awhile but they don't seem to drive new products to introduction like other cars. that work for a wide range of vehicles. when the srt-8 cars came out they came out w/ a 20'' drag radial w/ their correct aspect ratio for them. granted they already had one for the lightnings. it will happen i bet.

[QUOTE=saplumr;1568860239]Vipers and Vettes have had 19's for years and still no DR so the Mustang will have zero effect.
I hope they do. Theres a lot of Mustangs out there, i still have mine from 1999 with aftermacket 19''x 10'' on the rear. It should help the demand for them.

There are a few options that you guys should look into (especially the non ZO6 guys!!).
Here is one option for regular C6's: 305/30/19 Toyo R888
http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/proxes-r888
For the ZO6 guys you got two options: the A6/R6 Hoosiers or the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. All of these tires are available in 345/30/19.

Keep in mind that these are basically road race tires. The Pilot Spot Cup (treadwear 80) is probably the best option for the street because the Hoosiers have a treadwear of 40. These tires all hook extremely well. If you don't mind going through tires every 3000ish miles, get the Hoosiers but don't plan on driving in the rain LOL. If you want a tire to last a little longer get the Cups.

Safety Car
I've heard a lot of good things about the NT-05 from Nitto. I'll be switching to those soon... hopefully they can hold my heads/cam setup on the street. 1st gear is pointless on my Bridgestones.

I run them. I have 3.73 gears and 600rwhp. I still spin in first, but in second I can go wide open. You can't drive on them if there's any water at all, and they do pick up everything, but they hold great.

Ford Mustang Average annual sales since 1965 have been around 200,000 cars a year. Currently Ford expects to sell 100,000 Mustangs per year.
Chevrolet Corvette takes 3-5 years to equal Ford Mustangs current sales expectations. Ford Mustang owners modify their Mustangs like crazy. Without a doubt they will want 19" Drag Radials, and with those sales numbers combined with Corvette demands I suspect 19" Drag Radials will be available soon.
However the current economic situation calls for an entire world wide economic collapse at the end of 2009 and if that happens the only demand left will be for food!
Hope I am wrong about both, sure would like a set of 19" Drag Radials.

Yes the Hoosier R6 will hold in second gear unless you have 700HP+. If you are going to go this route, I highly suggest getting some 3M clear put on your fender wells behind your back tires. Otherwise, your paint will be ripped off of the car within a few months. BTW the R6's have a teadwear of 40 and come new at 4/32nds. They will last 5K miles ( a few Viper guys have verified this) but that will be it and expect less if you drive the car hard.
