There have been a lot of threads on this. The last one I recall had a poll of what people actually had and Killer Bee was number 1, K & N number 2. You may want to check out that thread.

ah, but what performance benefits, if any, without headers and a tune? slim-to-none I'd wager for the $400 entry fee. at least that's what I've read from various Vette tuners.

has anyone ever removed the blank insert that fills the hood scoop. i know that the intake air comes from the front grille but it would seem that a lot of cold air could enter from the hood scoop if it were open (aka viper). i would think this would especially enhance the killer bee cai since it lies right there and does not extend downward like the varram unit. just a thought.

I disagree. I've had Vararams on my last 4 Vettes as the first mod for each car and I've ALWAYS felt a difference without any other MOD.

GM closed this for a reason... In the early stages, it was the idea to use the opening as an intake; but after testing, they had to close the opening up after they noticed too much lift occurring under the hood that caused the car to become unstable at high speeds... You can remove the plastic piece, but I would get a vented hood to let out the excess air flow to eliminate any lifting...

The one that came with the car from Chevy. All aftermarkets are a waste of money that give you very little in anything in return. Save your bucks and don't get fooled into buyng something that is not worth the dollars spent.
