New Best 1/4mile Time In Vegas......
2006 zo6. 12,000mi. 2lz,with+ nav,amp,sub, 1/4 tank gas.
dyno-460rwhp/436rwtq
weight-3120lb
temp-80-90deg
DA- +4500FT
17'' 17X11.5 ET STREETS ON ZR1 WHEELS@25LBS
previous best a few weeks back:12.69@118.3 & 12.62@117.6
with a 2.31 & 2.27 60ft on bald runflats.
1st pass 6:45-no burn out(tried twice but stalled it both times)4000rpm launch-spun bad 1st gear, went sideways into 2nd got out of it-then got back in it. clean shifts at around 7k.
60ft-2.11
1/8-8.72@87.8mph
1/4-12.92@119.5mph
2nd run 7:30-nice burnout(1st gear 5 sec) about 3k launch bogged.clean shifts @7k
60ft-2.10
1/8-8.10@93.7
1/4-12.20@123.3mph
3rd run 9:16(same as above but let the car cool down for an 1.5hr)
60ft-2.00
1/8-7.95@94
1/4-12.05@122.8mph
4th run 9:29- nice burnout,rough launch at about 3500-bogged
60ft-1.92
1/8-8.00@92.1
1/4-12.16@121.3mph
5th run 9:42 (3k launch-wheel hop)
60ft-2.18
1/8-8.31@90.6
1/4-12.48@119.2mph
6th run 10:00(4k launch, left hard- wheel hopped & felt rough)
60ft-1.93
1/8-7.92@92.9
1/4-12.07@120.1mph
tire preasure was left at 25psi the whole night as the et streets felt very stable at 120+ speeds. coolant temps were between 205-215 on all runs. track prep was ok?-i guess. NO 4TH GEAR SHIFTS! all runs were thru the traps in 3rd at about 7k. i have made only a total of 8 passes in this car & this is the first stick car i have run at the track. car is very inconsistent on the launch & needs a good cool down to get a good mph. but for mid june in vegas(+4500ft) in a bonestock z with tire, i'm very happy with 123.3mph.-the best my bolt-on a6 could do in good weather was 12.49@113.5
fwiw- another bonestock zo6 on drag radials went an average of 12.40@118mph

NIce driving. That cool down makes a big difference. It's hard to get that 60 ft. below 2 sec in this car. I've only been able to do it once in 13 runs.

Nice numbers for Vegas.
I was up in Fontana 3 weeks ago and ran my 08 A6.
The heat was on that day, 103F and the track official said the DA was 4500ft.
The car went 12.37@115 on runflats.

Nice improvements made during the day! Anytime your ET is going down during a track day it's a positive.
If you're not spinning then don't lower your tire pressures, although 25 seems a bit too high.
At 100*, it would take MANY hours to cool these cars down to ideal operating temps....it SUCKS!
Launching this car GOOD is difficult, as the clutch release & throttle squeeze need to be timed PERFECTLY for best results. Practice & feel are the best way to accomplish this.
1st burnout of the day on ET Streets should be a good one, then smaller ones to first smoke the rest of the day.
A bog off the launch in a stock powered, stock clutch C6Z is unavoidable. That's why I personally feel the ET Streets are too much tire for drag racing a C6Z. I almost NEVER spin on the launch using my MT ET street drag radials! Other opinions may vary.
