The 427 Limited Edition Z06 features a Crystal Red Tintcoat exterior, the first Z06 ever offered with a red metallic tintcoat paint. It also features graphics on the hood and fascia that evoke the style of the famed "stinger" hood design and graphics that were offered with 1967 models equipped with the 427 engine. Also unique to this model are "427" hood badges. Each example is numbered and signed by Wil Cooksey, the Corvette assembly plant manager who is retiring after 15 years on the job, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Available under order code Z44, this special Z06 enters production this spring. Only 427 will be offered in the United States and Canada, with 78 more exported outside North America. That's a total of 505 production vehicles – the same number of horsepower produced by the LS7 engine. 2008 Special Edition VINs

In support of fellow Wil Cooksey owners I thought I would provide a little data about our LS7 guides with data from #267 Z44 Wil Cooksey
Since all but 3 of the Wil Cooksey Z06 Z44 corvettes were built at a 20/day rate between March 31 - May 5 2008 I suspect we all have LS7 heads with very similar production date coding. Like many other LS7 owners I worried about my valve guides for a couple years and decided to deal with the matter. 427 #267 went to Katech in late Feb for stage 2 Katech upgrades with bronze guides & TI/Mo valves My guides were professionally measured by WCCH before rework as part of Katech upgrade.
Guide data below is for car #267 at approx. 13,500 miles. Max GM Spec is .0037. You be the judge if Linamar and GM have a problem.
It seems that there are quite a few 427 Limited Edition owners on this forum. If you own a 427 Limited Edition and you want to be counted, what number do you have and where do you live?

#319 is for sale at Murphy Chevrolet, Foley MN for $59,995, with only 7,648 miles on it. I have over 10 times that on mine...
#159 is for sale by a private seller in Monroe GA for $55,900 with 5,200 miles on it.
#161 is for sale at Exotic Classics in Syosset NY for $48,500 with 17,435 miles on it. Note: this is the same dealer that has had #7 with 788 miles on it for sale for 4 years, asking $84,900 for it now.
There is one for sale in Park City UT by a private seller, did not list the number. This car has been tracked and comes with coil overs, 550 rear wheel horsepower and two sets of wheels and tires. He is asking $49,500, only 8,200 miles on it.

Happy to report taking ownership of Cooksey # 190. It is now located in a small town in NE CT, Wauregan to be exact, blink and you'd miss it. Car was bought yesterday with 12715 miles in mint condition...guess a new avatar might be necessary...
