I have taken the car in for management of this problem. I printed out a TSB which I found here on the forum and took it with me.

"There is a TSB for this. It is bulletin 06-02-35-002. Yes, you should take the message seriously. If your condition is as a result of the TSB condition what is happening is that your telescoping steering wheel is putting the connector for your steering wheel position sensor in tension."
This was the previous quick fix.

There is another with pics.
I was told that there is a new retaining clip to address the problem, and they have installed it into my car.
I believe that this is what Patton describes here.

They showed me a new TSB which they had which replaces the old one.
For those with this problem, some have had the steering wheel position sensor replaced. Others still struggle with it on any C6 Corvette with the telescopic wheel, so I don't want to give the impression that this is a Z06 problem. It can and does affect other cars.
If you have the problem ask your dealer about this fix.

Burning Brakes
Hey guys,
I have a 05 Z51 with only the tilt steering wheel (no telescopic). Yesterday i was driving down my block and i slow down to make a U turn, turn the wheel to the left and BAM...the brakes kick in. Thinking it was just my imagination i reversed the car and retraced my steps and again it happened. Only this time i happened twice back to back. I also heard the ABS pump make a noise (guess it's the sound of it working).
Does this problem only happen to cars with telescopic steering wheels?
BTW i'm not getting no code or service active handling msg.
Thanks in advance.

Just got a call from my wife saying "The car says service active handling, service traction control, service ABS". Could a brake problem throw all three error messages?
Does GM cover TSB's if the car is out of warranty?

After reading around, I called her back and asked her if she moved the steering wheel and she said 'yes'....right before the warning messages came on. Sounds like I have a date with a connector this weekend. Unless GM will cover it under the TSB that is...
