Last month GM released the UPF48R Ultra Guard oil filters and we have them in stock on a regular basis.
I sell them for $8.62 each. They do come in a case of 12, but I offer my customers to buy them in just quantities of 1 if you'd like. Since I've provided the volume discount already, I cannot discount further for multiple quantities.

The PF48 was originally used on all Z06 engines and 07 and up for all other engines. This filter provides more filtration than your standard oil filter. I found an article with just a couple of the differences. For those of you with the earlier LS2's you can use the UPF44 Ultra Guard filter.

Hello Gene, I have a very early build 09 Z06 (1st week OF 09 production) and after looking under the car it has I believe the car shipped with PF-48 the filter is blue. What color are the UPF-48R and what is the advantage of using the R VS standard filter? thicker walled and better filtration maybe?. Thanks.

The UPF48R's are black. They do have thicker walls and some filtration difference. I did post that in the original post.
