[Z06] 50 - 50 weight distribution

50 - 50 weight distribution
It blows my mind that a Z06 has 50-50 front/rear weight distribution. That is just an astonishing piece of engineering for a street vehicle, even if its was also intended for racing at Le Mans.

The front weighed in at 1600lbs. and the rear weighed in at 1560lbs. and I'll guess if you were to put 7 gallons in it would weigh in at just over 3210lbs (curb wight) and I bet it would be very close to 1605 front to 1605 rear.
Damn near perfection.
I think I can make it better-----LOL
I wonder how many others have weighed in their new ride?

not sure if you're saying 50/50 is perfect, or if you're saying you're amazed GM could actually get the car to 50/50 (as opposed to being front heavy).
for drag racing, it seems clear to me that heavy rear bias is desirable.
for road racing it's not so clear but the consensus seems to be that some rear bias is best, perhaps in the neighborhood of 57-62 rear. check out this thread i just found.

In fact, it would be a tremendous piece of engineering even if you did start with a clean piece of paper. I think balance is part of the reason the Z06 records 7:42.9 at the Nurburgring and the much more expensive, more powerful Ferrari 599 with paddle shifting, the Fiorano suspension package and 47/53 front/rear balance scores a 7:47.
I just think the Z06 is an amazing piece of work. Just my $0.02 and I admit I'm biased.

On a CA. certified DMV scale, I weighed my '07 Z06 in at 3160lbs. with 11 gallons of fuel.
The front weighed in at 1600lbs. and the rear weighed in at 1560lbs. and I'll guess if you were to put 7 gallons in it would weigh in at just over 3210lbs (curb wight) and I bet it would be very close to 1605 front to 1605 rear.
