I was told that to remove the oil pan, you have to drop the front cradle.

Has anyone done this on jackstands? If so, what is the best way to support the motor with the cradle down?

I would use a cherry picker to hold the motor.

If u attempt this job w/o a lift, u are a better man than me.......had my pan off 3 weeks ago, cut the pan gasket changing a cam.

yes i have dropped the cradle on several cars when it has been on jack stands, not very difficult.

but have not dropped the oil pan at the same time, yes use a cherry picked to hold motor up if you need to drop the pan off also for some reason
