The clutch pressure plate fingers are the problem, they are weak and tend to not release under hard acceleration.
GM tech told me the same along with a dimension issue with Flywheel and pressure plate. I had fluid changed when clutch was replaced at 100k and still same fluid at 183,000 and zero issues.

I am a new Z06 owner. 2006 with 34K miles on it. Shifting /starting into first seemed sticky so I switched out the clutch fluid today. It is so much better now, shifts smoother and is really tight. Thanks for the info Sarge!!!!

Thanks for you insight into this matter. I had problems with my clutch peddle as well. I used this info at the dealership & ask for assistance with my problem. Dealership had to replace the slave & master cylinder in mine car
$2400 bucks. I fought with them & GM to help me with this issue. My 06 Z06 only has 15k soft miles on it although it is 9 yrs old. I was told that they couldn't help because it was out of warranty. This was in August 2015 then in September I received a letter from GM that they were going to provide additional protection for 10yrs from first service or 120k miles. I'm still trying to get my money back but looks like they will take care of it. If not i'm sure the letter will stand up in court.

There have been messages to dealerships to tell owners of the problems with the clutch hydraulic system. I've always had my car serviced a the dealership so I would have expected them to tell me that fluid needed to be changed which was never done. I first learned of the problem after the clutch stuck to the floor while at the dealership. That when i started checking the forum only to find out others have had the same problem. I contacted GM after i couldn't get anything done with the dealership. GM told me that they wouldn't be able to do anything either in late August. Then in September got a letter came from GM in September 2015 a month after the work was done on the car. Telling me that they would pay for the repair. To date i haven't got money yet however, the letter they sent me is pretty damning.
