Yeah and you probably got one of those factory freak engines too Seriously they are build to engineering specifications with the same materials so I would bet they all weigh in pretty much the same.

I have installed all the zr1 body panels (except the roof/hood) Phat coil overs, zr1 factory wheels chrome and factory tires (thanks SW), it does have a APC carbon hood and american racing headers and 493rwh but I think if you are going to compare weights it must be full of all fluids I was just suprised with how light these cars realy are, and yes the scales are Cat certified scales! I had to gut my old camaro to get close to this weight and it was a drag car/ no a/c no heater, no radio no pass seat no radio no glass windows no air bags no eletric anything. 3120lbs not brading or bosting just realy happy, no wonder the Vipers need so much more HP to keep up!!

Maybe you should have included the mods in your original post? I am sure you lost a few pounds with them. All though it maybe a wash with the heavier rims and larger tires? Perhaps you should have weighed what you took off and what you put on as well. I am not being critical and I happy you like your car, but this is an odd post.

Mine weighed 3160lbs. Full of fluids and 12 gallons of gas, no driver on a DMV certified scale.
I bet if I were to top the tank off with +6 gallons, I be darn close to the GM's claimed curb weight of 3200lbs.

I also weight the front tires in at 1600lbs. and the rears in at 1560lbs.
How about the 6 gallons now, for a 50/50 weight distribution.
Who out there thinks GM just took a guess or claimed what they had hoped for.

I'm a believer.

Well it looks like we are in the same ball parks it just seems to be how full the gas tank is. But the kateck car seems to be very light.
