Lemans Blue Z06's
Hi there, currently in the process of possibly buying a Z06 this week. lemans blue is the color. interested in seeing what folks have done for exterior mods if any or just post up some pics!
Have only seen the car in person a couple times so I would imagine it's a rare color on the Z06?

I assume you are looking for an 06 or 07 since those were the only years LMB was available. Good luck! Tint, 427 badges, body color spoiler and door handles are my only exterior mods.

All in good fun. I think all of the colors are great. But, my son is a Florida Gator, and Jetstream Blue was the only option I was allowed to select!

10U Arctic White exterior: 0 0.0%
19U Le Mans Blue Metallic exterior: 671 10.7%
41U Black exterior: 1,672 26.7%
45U Velocity Yellow exterior: 1,464 23.3%
67U Machine Silver Metallic exterior: 978 15.6%
71U Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic exterior: 282 4.5%
74U Victory Red exterior: 1,205 19.2%
80U Monterey Red Metallic exterior: 0 0.0%
For MY 2007, 40,561 C6 Corvettes were made. Just 8,159 of those cars were Z06s. Of the 8,159 Z06s made that year, just 827 were Lemans Blue.
Thus out of over 74,582 C6 Corvettes for those two years, just 14,431 were Z06s. And of that 14,431, only 1,498 were Lemans Blue.
Since the color was discontinued for the Z06 after 2007, thats all that were made.
The 2006 Z06 is the lightest in weight, and rawest (using less sound deadening material) of all C6 Z06s.
The quickest known bone stock C6 Z06 time in the quarter mile, 10.98 128.90mph was run in a 2006 LeMans Blue Z06.
Typical exterior modifications on Z06s tend to be very few.
427 hood emblems, sometimes dealer installed. Body colored rear spoilers or C6 rear spoilers, or ZR1 /GT1 style spoilers. Front splitters usually round the list out.
The Z06 is a true supercar and a pleasure to own and drive. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the breakdown, good info! Think I would tap into doing some CF on the car, CF rear spoiler/door handles just to replace the flat black. A nicer steering wheel is also something I would consider. Gonna stay away from the performance mods, want to keep it close to stock....maybe a filter/tune and that's it. And of course, better tires which I think really show the true potential of the Z06.
The runflats do have their limitations. But of course everything is a compromise. They had to put a runflat tire on the car for the masses, and as hard as the sidewalls are on a runflat, that would have cost the car at least something performance wise.
The good thing though is that there are several options out there if you are going to be changing tires any time soon. The Invos, Pilot Sports, NT-05 are but a few that numerous people have been very satisfied with. All of course are non runflats.
You will hear lots of owners recommending one or more of those brands mentioned above when its time to replace worn tires, but very few Z06 owners recommending runflats.
BTW, I did get to put 47 miles on my car today with the NT 05s in the rain, though it was an off and on type rain and not a steady down pour which is what I really wanted to evaluate them in.
Even still, the NT 05s did very well at highway speed limit speeds and slightly above over 47 miles of wet highway and intermittent showers. 55-70mph speeds.
It performed well with lane changes without the slightest hint of anything approaching hydroplaning.
Of course I didn't get crazy with the car under those conditions and I am sure that had I "tried" I could have gotten the car to misbehave.
But what I wanted to find out was if the tire would do well in wet conditions, and it did.
I'll try again in a downpour.

Check out Supercar Movies. Scroll down to episode 10, it's a Lemans Blue Z06 and the video is in HD
I had seen it earlier about 6 months ago but couldn't remember where to find it again.

Greetings...this is my first post. I've had my 2006 LMB Corvette Z06 now for a little over a year. I seem to be spending more time cleaning/waxing than driving it, I refuse it drive it if it's dirty
Anyway, I have tried several waxes, BIZ, Meguirs, F1...all seem to shine for a while but then starts to dull on me. I'm using light Armour All soap to make sure I don't remove wax, store in garage etc.
Just wanted to get some opinions, what is the best wax for this color? I like to see the shiny, wet looking paint with lots of shine. I will admit I'm a little meticulous regarding the looks and just wanted to see if anyone has found a wax that really works magic on the paint.

Rance, congrats on the car, but you picked a 7 year old post to put your first post in. I use Meguiars NXT 2.0 on my car. I've tried several and they all do about the same thing. Zaino is a good one, although a little pricey, but the polish will last a year (don't use but 2 oz. at a time).
