Service Active Handling message AGAIN!!!
Got the dreaded Service Active Handling System message again for the umteenth time. What a POS system. Has anybody figured out how to disable remove the system completely and permanently?
I hate it and I don't need it to spin me out again, with the one wheel lock up BS it likes to pull.
There has to be a way to disable the system in the CPU or something..anyone know how?

If you installed a very aggressive (race) pad , that indication will come on. Ounce you turn the engine off, it resets but never goes away. It does not cause any harm.
I had my car scanned by GM , it had a DTC C0137 code , which means ABS is above maximum THRESHOLD. According to my tuner, C codes cant be dissabled.

Bring car in asap,Local gm service manager(good friend) told me about TSB 060235002 which is a steering position malfunction that throws code service active handling system.
This could be very serious and lead to terrible things!

I'm not taking any offense. I just didn't know if that was a known broblem that they just took care of , or if you had to pay for it. I don't have the issue yet. I was just curious.

It has been to dealer several times. Once did the repair of steering colum connections as per the TSB, once replaced the steering position sensor, once said no codes found. IMO the system can't be trusted, hence my preference would be to permanently disable it, and not have to hold down the button for 5 seconds every time I start the car.

Have you tried simply disconnecting the SWPS? It is sort of a pain to remove the shroud around the column to access it, but once you do the sensor is easy to find and just has a simple coupling to the wiring harness. I have not tried this but might in the future when I get my car back on the road. I'm not taking any chances in the future, either, so I am going to figure out some way to disable it as well. Let us know what you decide and what works. Thanks

I'm getting this and I did the tsb myself with the connector and zip tie.It has gotten so wierd in my car that if I do a holeshot it powers the car down and bogs. this is with traction control off. It fells like trying to do a burnout with TC on.
