2011 z06 540hp z06 vs. 2011 zr1 638hp
kind of a spinoff from a previous topic, but i was wondering...
if a direct injection (540hp) z06 (7500 rpm redline) now yielded a 3.5 sec 0 - 60 time and was within .1 or .2 tenths of a second in the quarter mile, top speed of 200+ mph what vette would you buy? current pricing remaining the same.

ZR-1 is nice, BUT I'd have to take the new and improved 2011 540hp Z06. Sorry ZR1 owners thats how life works.

I haven't been reading for a few days - did they bump the power in the ZO6 for 2011?

I don't think they will make pushrod motor spin 7500RPM that they also have to warranty.
Just put mag ride on it and I will upgrade in a heartbeat.

Don't you think they would add direct injection to the ZR1 as well? Probably giving it close to 700hp?

No. Nobody here knows what will happen in 2011. This thread is a 'what if' question. The people that do know in GM do not leak this information without losing their jobs.
To the original poster, it can not have a 4.000" stroke and 7500rpm redline.

Well obviously they wouldn't do this and given pricing i'd take the Z06. Money no object then ZR1.

I agree, for a few bucks you can easily top the ZR-1 HP with a Z06 to the point where trhe ZR-1 is at the end.
