I just met up with a AMG 65 Bi-tubo...
I was on the way home from training a client... coming into Burbank, I rolled up on this Black AMG 65 Bi-tubo.. the flares on the rear wheel wells... are so wide... he tried to lose me in a couple of twistys... couldn't... from a roll up to third I was right with him... I had to turn, a couple of mins had past I was just crusing home. Then he pulled up to me out of the blue We started talking, nice guy, sweet ride, he was truly shocked on the performance of the Z. He couldnt stop talking about the performance my car showed... pretty cool I think.

Just looking at "advertised numbers", a stock Z should be a tick faster in 0 to 60 and quarter mile times and ABSOLUTELY SPANK that car on a road course.

OK, maybe not SPANK, but a stock Z is "officially" faster on the Ring: http://www.fastestlaps.com/track2.html
and the Top Gear track: http://www.fastestlaps.com/track1.html
I wonder what tires the AMG comes with? (just pointing out the Z's times are on runcraps)

Very nice ride.... What are they about $180k? Humm.... I could by ZR1, a new F250, an enclosed trailer and still get a 2 weeks sailing in the Virgins for that money. But... i guess the guy in the AMG got it to spend!

type Production Car
released at 2008 Paris Motor Show
built at Affalterbach, Germany
production 200
price $ $ $320,000 USD
Off Edmunds;
It'll Cost Ya
Not surprisingly, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series isn't cheap. All its badassness is assigned a dollar value which, in many states, will buy you a nice waterfront property overlooking the lake. And a Corvette besides.
The going rate will be an estimated $300,000 when the Black Series goes on sale in the U.S. in January 2009. This might seem ridiculous to those of you looking for waterfront property or American sports cars. But for those who have the means, this wicked new Black Series — a car that will frighten you and your legal counsel every time you even consider turning off its stability control — is worth every penny.
Edmunds attended a manufacturer-sponsored event, to which selected members of the press were invited, to facilitate this report.

Very nice ride indeed, but wouldn't you be a little pissed if a car 1/3 the price of your AMG pulls ahead while you're standing on the gas? I guess there's always exclusivity. Awesome looking car that could use a diet.

perhaps that's what some import boys say about us?

I sat in a red one at the Mercedes dealership in Escondido.
What a car, those flairs are huge.
Not cheap at $314,000.00
I also sat in the SLR and I liked the Black better.
