What is a Good Trickle Charger?
I just bought a 06 Z. It is not going to be driven much during the winter months. What is a good quality trickle charger? Thanks!!

i use the ctek and it's awesome. It can and has brought back a dead battery for me a few times. i had a battery sitting for two years (red top ultima) that it completely recharged and the battery is working perfect again. I use it on the corvette over the winter and have no complaints it's small and uses technology. some of the other one's seem just like small battery chargers. I like this because it can revive a battery (at least I bought into the marketing :-) )

Got a CTEK 3300 hooked to my car right now, so guess it's my vote. These are great for keeping questionable batteries alive. Know a few guy's that lost these in the frozen snow, dumped in a lake and even driven over, with barely a scratch. Wouldn't use anything else.

I have a Battery Tender Junior for both of my Vettes and it has worked out great for me. No more dead batteries. I have the chargers plugged in overhead and I drop the line down to a mating plug that is hardwired to the cars +12V line. Easy to plug in or remove and out of the way.

I have 2 Schumacher tenders I have used for years. One for the Vette the other for the tractor.
Got them at Wally World, they were about $16s each 4 years ago.

CTEK here also. Best charger I have ever owned, and I have owned many over the years.
Two weeks ago, my son's Miata battery got discharged to 3.6 volts. Took about two days to nurse it back. Ran it on "recondition" mode twice within the last two weeks, seems fine now. This is the second dead battery the CTEK brought back from the grave.
Another bonus is the unit is rated for outdoor use, even in the rain. It also has a winter mode (good for AGM type batteries like the Ultima and Genesis also) which puts out a higher charging voltage. This is required as a temperature compensation when the chemical reaction slows down within the battery during the winter months.

Battery Minder keeps the battery fully charged w/o over charging. Has pulse mode which
will desulfonate the battery (sulfonization is the reason why most batteries fail).
Just hook up and forget it. $40 at Northern Tool. Kept my lawn tractor battery alive for
7 years.
