Default Power in numbers (DRM's Valved Bilstein sport shocks) Group buy thread!!!

This thread was started in direct responds to you (Corvette forum members) We are very happy about the pure amount of people wanting to be on our shock setup. This isn't a huge profit margin item in on list of products. But with the good reviews made from our already shock users, it has turned into a much desired product. With the idea of a sale people really came out of the wood work We are going to work hard on getting the price down. When working with less then 10 percent profit margin on a 695 dollar item it is a bit tricky, but with some creative ideas I'm sure we can get the price down a bit. Credit card processing cost us 2.2 percent to 2.9 percent, we may require customers to send a check. Shipping will be less because of the numbers. Any other ideas like this I would be more then happy to listen to Pros and cons???

OK here is where we are at right now. Bilstein is closed for the holidays until Jan 4th. At that time we will ask for a discount for a large order like we have going now. We will make up the difference if the Group buy is getting close to X needed before a discount if needed. Then they will give me a price and I will post it here. At that point we need to figure out who is still in and who is backing out.

IF you are interested please reply with I'm in, or I'm maybe in, or something like that.

Randy,

Thanks for following through on the group buy

For those that are uncertain about the Bilsteins, I use them on my race car and my motorhome. The race car I have no choice because it is a spec series but I'm glad they chose the Bilsteins. I have them on my motorhome for the last 12 years and they completely changed the ride. As an example it no longer pulls the front wheels when going over frost heaves/dips in the road when travelling at speed.

One idea to save some cost is typically it cost less to ship to a business/commercial address. I know I can have items shipped to me this way. (some have things shipped this way to avoid the other half from knowing they bought more toys)

Since it is January, most of us are probably not in a rush so save as much as possible on shipping.

I'm interested. I'd like to install coil overs, but I believe that bumps you out of super stock for SCCA. Sounds like the DRM is a big improvement, yet remains stock (ish).

Good plan. I normally look at what UPS is charging, add a buck or two depending on the box and charge the customer. If you have a business address please share that with me at the time of the order. We are a few steps away from this but thinking ahead is a good thing

I'm in, but I'm already on the list
I think it is the best suspension mod $ wise you can do! The composite leafsprings are light and work well, the swaybars work well too, no complaints, but the stock shocks have got to go!

That is a good point. Tires and shocks are some of the best mods for handling if you're not racing and just doing HPDE and street driving. For those who decide to go with coil overs will also need to change sway bars since they need to be stronger without the leaf spring affect. Adjustable shocks and springs are nice, but take a lot of track time to get the setup just right. I know as I have to do this with my race car. Most people without the experience/time/money?equipment will only end up chasing their tail trying to find the right setup for each track. I'm not willing to spend that much time working on my Z06 so I will go with the Bilsteins
