[Z06] Used high mileage Z06 or C6?

Z06 53K miles for 38k w warranty?
Used Z06 2006 1 owner with 53k miles going for under 40k
My question is what problems if any one might run into in a high mileage Z06....It will be much harder to resell the car in case i want to upgrade to a lower mileage Corvette in the future?
This is my first corvette.
I will NOT be going on the track but want to avoid passing up the opportunity of getting a Z06. What would you guys recommend and or do based on my budget. My budget allows me to spend up to 40k max so my choices are either: High mileage Z06 vs lower mileage C6 2008 (LS3).

Depending on when the car was put into service, it seems to have averaged approximately 13,000 miles/year. That's well within the average, depending on what state the vehicle is from.
Look at it like any other used car. Check the maintenance records and inspect it for any abnormal or excessive wear.
If it's within your budget and you like it, then buy it and drive it and tell us how much you enjoy it. Remember the 2006 was the first model year for the C6/Z06 and had some issues with roof panels and axle shafts.

with the LS7 engine what is the highest some of the members here have pushed it mileage wise? i hate to get the car and have the engine take a dump at 60k, anything i should be concerned about replacing once it reaches closer to 100k in the future. I will probably be driving it about 7k a year in the summer.
I am trying to gauge my expenses moving forward once i get either the z OR c6.

I wouldn't buy a Vette' with that kind of milage. Surely it will run for many year's, but lot's of stuff out there. A recent C6 section posting shows a member picking up an 07 Z' with 13K mi, trading in his 02 Z' for $22,500. Admittedly, the tires were shot, and add sales taxes. Pretty good, as the trade in really help's here. I'd keep looking for something like this, before the springtime sun start's shining.

I'd save my money, if I were a buyer.

By the way I haven't seen a bunch of warranty denials for stock or non-abused cars. GM isn't anywhere as strict on abuse as they used to be in the 60s.

Its a car by car basis. There are a number of high mileage C6Zs here on the forum. I would do a very careful exam of the car, perhaps having a mechanic look it over. If its been treated well, there is no reason it should be good for another 50K miles or more of normal driving.

Do yourself a favor and wait for a C6Z. I was in the same boat as you but I eventually saw the light. Once you drive one hard you will just be drawn to them like a magnet. I wanted a lemans C6 targa like nothing else. I then drove a Z and was like "HOLY CRAP" this is the car for me. Granted they are more money, but I can give you my honest word, you won't be disappointed at all. They are just insane cars.
I love the C6, I love the C5Z and I am a big vette fan all around but the C6Z is something special. Once you drive one I think you will feel the same. Either way, you will have fun with whatever vette you choose. Congrats in advance!

I'm in the same boat as you . Just sold my ' 02 C5 ; and want a C6. Never driven a Z06; but really desire one. My lovely wife can handle the stick ; but she questions the ride quality on long trips. Maybe someone has input for us ?

If you want a Z06 you need to buy a Z06.....either now or save a bit & buy it later. The base C6 is a great car but if you have the Z06 "itch" then you'll be left wanting with anything other than a Z06.

It isn't a GM warranty. Its from GMAC which is no longer owned by GM. By the way it is an excellent plan if your car qualifies for it...By the way I haven't seen a bunch of warranty denials for stock or non-abused cars. GM isn't anywhere as strict on abuse as they used to be in the 60s.
Some people.

Why?
IF the car was certified stock from whoever you bought it from, and you left the LS7 stock?
You'd get a spanking brand new LS7, no questions asked.
*IF it's left stock & you're under warranty time/mileage limit(s).
What's not to like about that?
