Do they make Blizzak Tires or Pirelli Snow & Ice tires that fit C6 Z rims?
Yes, I know the C6 Z is one of worst type of cars that should be driven in the snow, but I know some guys drive them year long as I have witnessed some C6 Zs being driven in the winter here in Chicago, and I the thought has crossed my mind about doing it (but would that's a longshot and without a snow tire I realize it would just be plain stupid and dangerous)!
That being said, does anyone know whether they make any snow tires that woud fit on the huge Z06 rims (and my guess is no b/c of the large dimensions of the rims).
I know there are great snow tires for performance vehicles Blizzaks, and Pirelli snow and ice tires, but does anyone know whether these or any other tires would fit on a C6 Z06 rims?
Thanks in advance and please let's stick to the topic of this thread "Is there a snow tire that fits the Z rims" and NOT how foolish it would be to attempt this.

Would C6 vette LS2 or LS3 rims clear the big brakes on the C6 Z? I would think not but not sure. Does anybody know for certain?

Safety Car
Aluminum frame, steel floor pan frame, etc. Don't expose these cars to salt. Saw a C5 Z06 exposed to one Chicago winter. Floor pan frame was almost rotted out.

when it comes to a winter tire the narrower the better, because a wide tire will just sit on top of the snow and not cut through it and will just spin. if you want winter tires for the car you're going to have to take the stock ones off, buy some steel rims in maybe 7 inch width and 17 or 18 inch diameter and at most 225 wide tire, then you'll get somewhere.
you're not putting any winter tires on stock rims, that's just silly

As long as the snow is less than 4" deep, I much prefer to drive the Corvette (with snow tires) on the slippery roads over my AWD pick-up truck. The Vette's low center of gravity, active handling, etc make it very predictable, and a great winter vehicle.

Are you talking about a C6 Z06 or some other model vette?
If it is a C6 Z06, what rims and what tires you running?

I drove my CTS-V through many winters with minimal problems. So this winter I tried it with my 08 Coupe on winter tires; it's not so good.
When I was getting snow tires for my coupe I looked briefly to see if anyone made anything for my Z and never found anything. After 1 winter with coupe I wouldn't try it in my Z.

Both a C5 Z06 & a C6 Z06 (never tried it in a non-Z06 Vette) + a CTS-V. The C5 Z06 & the CTS-V had snow tires available. But the C6 Z06 has to have regular Vette wheels as my winter set-up because I couldn't find any tires that would fit the OEM wheels. Hopefully someone will come out with something.

Can you tell me the exact year vette wheels you used that clear the large brakes?
Can anyone else confirm to regular size 2005-07 LS2 C6 Coupe wheels fit on the front and back of a C6 Z?

Arwun my friend, as you know from personal experience they do NOT make any snow tires for a C6 Z06 as the rims are too large.
Million dollar question is what year vette coupe (non Z06) (05, 06, 07, 08, 09) rims did you use with a snow tire on your C6 Z, that fit on the Z with the big racing style brakes the car has?
Also, anyone else, will stock size rims (in front and back) on a 2005, 06, 07, 08 or 2009 C6 coupe, fit on a C6 Z06 (that the simple and direct question I am trying to get answered here)!

Pirelli makes a Winter 240 Sottozero in 285/35-19 for the rear & Bridgestone Blizzak comes in 275/35-18 for the front... or if you want to stick with the same brand all around, you could go with 255/40-18 Pirelli's in the front. If you are worried about changing wheels, then stick with the stock OEM & just go that route.

Fantasic info bro thanks man (even though I probably will never have the guts to take a C6 Z out in the snow as I look out my window here in Chicagoland and see about 8 inches on the ground and still falling!
Who knows whether a C6 LS2 coupe wheels or a C6 LS3 coupe wheels will fit on the front and back of a C6 Z, I am sure some drag racers here have tried to see if those combos fit?
