Default Tire rubbing question

I got a question for you guys....With my new wheels and tires (345's in the back) I am getting a little rubbing on the fender with the rear tires. Not too bad but it is definetely rubbing a little on both sides. A little more on the rear left. I talked to the guy that sold me the 360's. He said I need to adjust the camber. In doing research on the forum, some people are running with -.5 to -1.0 rear camber. I have also seen a few threads where some guys have sanded down the inner rear fender a little bit. How safe is a little rubbing? Is that side wall pretty thick that I don't have to worry about a tire issue at hight speeds? Would you guys have the camber adjusted or maybe sand the fender? What do u guys think?

Well, it sounds like You've done your home work on the problem. But, I'd definitely done something to help eliminate some if not all of the side wall rubbin. The sidewalls are not that thick plus, the fact that wouldn't look cool on any Vette, IMO!

Good luck,
Don

if you choose to run -1.0 camber in the rear, keep a close watch on the insides of those expensive 345's- they'll wear faster than the outsides by quite a bit.

I have the same issue with mine, I would not adjust the camber. A little love rub has not hurt me

Do any of you guys know what offset your wheels are? 20X12.5 or a 20x13 with a ? offset. I am looking at getting a set of after market wheels and I don"t want to run into any issues myself. Also the front width and offset? I have been told a aggressive offset is 20X10 +30 front and 20X12 +50 rear? Is this OK?

I think I will do the same. I read the DIY thread about taping off the fender and then using 3 different grits of sandpaper. Did it go pretty smooth for you? I just don't want to crack the fender.

Yes tape the fenders real nice. Jack up the rear and remove the wheels, you really don't have to but it's alot easier.Mark the center of the wheel fender with a sharpie, next mark 6 inches on each side from the center, that will give you an idea how wide your going to file down. The lip of the fender is about a 1/2 inch so you want to file it down 1/4 inch max.I would use a fine file to get down the material quicker and then use a 800 grit sand paper to smooth it down.Hope this helps
