Black Widow cam installed at Quality Motorsports....Great experience!
I had the Widow cam, ported TB and intake and 160 stat installed Friday at Quality Motorsports in Lewisville, TX. Patrick, Carlos and Doug were great to work with. Carlos communicated with me on the phone through the entire process keeping me updated. I dropped the car off at 7:30 am Friday and the car was ready to go at 11:30am Saturday morning. QMS has great prices and the service is even better. I would recommend them to anyone.
The car runs great. On the dyno it made 540rwhp and 482rwtq. I have 20" rear wheels and Patrick said I probably lost around 10hp due to the rotating mass. I have BB bullet exhaust so the sound is great. I will try and get a video clip up later today.

Thanks! I love it. It rained most of the drive home from Dallas but I did get about an hour stretch of dry road and took advantage of it. It surges a little at low rpm's but I love the new power! Car pulls strong.

please give detail info on drivability. Low rpm stop light to stop light, drivability with the a/c on and idle, Hwy drivability in 6th gear, power and trq though the rpm range?

Any other mods done? Headers? Those are good #'s
I have the cam as well w/headers. I posted before about driveability in a thread. It does surge at low RPM's, usually around 1400-1500 if you aren't applying throttle. Stop light to stop light its manageable as long as you are moving through the gears and not constantly trying to bring it up from a low RPM. The most displeasing thing is when you are in slower traffic around 40 and people keep changing speeds. Where as you could easily leave it in 5th in stock form and float along at 1100-1200 for the time being you instead have to drop to 4th and sit around 1700-1900 to prevent some bucking. I haven't noticed any difference with the AC on or off. Cruising on the highway it does fine. 6th gear at 65 is ok, 70-75 is ideal.
Once you hit the go pedal it starts building fast around 3500 and pulls real hard from there.

I agree with almost everything BIGBOS posted. Although at 65 in 6th has some bucking. At 65 I need to be in 5th. 70-75 and above is fine in 6th. Stop light to stop light is fine. No difference with a/c on or off.
I lost a little bit of torque because of my intake manifold. I probably would of done a little better there with a FAST. I did have it ported which I am sure helped. Car pulls very strong from 3500 and up. It really squats the rear end down when you do a highway pull at those rpms.
I do have long tube headers, killer bee with beehive and BB bullet exhaust.

Thanks for all your support Mr. Sik Six.
FYI folks, driving style will change with ANY cam swap from ANY vendor; that is just the nature of the beast...the Z06 beast
Thanks,
Carlos

you should have Quality work their magic on your heads. I had them install the Widow in my car a while back and my car made 574/521. They are good guys for sure and have great customer expierence before, during, and after the sale

I wish he had some other kind of headers vs. those Dynatech's and not such heavy wheels but hey, 540-to-545rwhp is nothing to overlook even if it's a Silver car
Thanks,
Carlos...the silver hater
