On the road again. The new ML30C Braille starts the car instantly. It sits quitely at almost 14.9V fully charged. Braille GU1R at 6.3lbs starts our car every time as well and is 50% lighter than the ML30C. 9.68lbs vs 6.3lbs.

Highly recommended magazine
I highly recommend Corvette Magazine's next issue (April) which will be mailed to subscribers on 1/27/15 (issue #96).
You'll love one of the articles.

Thanks, Jim!
I Googled "Corvette Magazine" and found two hits that appear relevant:
www.corvettemagazine.com
www.corvette-mag.com
As CM is not available via book stores in my country, I'll try to order this issue online.

The battery's we use are used by the Corvette Race team and Cadillac Race team as well.
We actually ran a 6.6 lb Braille GU1R all year, and it started our 13.2:1 engine flawlessly, never lost a charge, and we drove our car almost daily. Even sitting for two weeks once, it started right up. It is $500.
Someday the Lithium Ion batteries will be much less expensive. I would trust them driving across the country.

any reason you didn't ditch the power side mirrors for something small, more aerodynamic and carbon fiber?
i have no idea what the stock side mirrors weight but have heard of guys gaining 2mph+ in the standing mile by removing side mirrors and I'd have to think some of the manually adjustable lightweight carbon mirrors run on the supra and gtr race cars would weight a tiny fraction of stock corvette
end of 2015 I'm putting my pig on a weight loss diet and going to experiment with fabrication on using some light weight carbon side mirrors.

You are aware that CF side mirrors are available via one of the forum vendors, aren't you?
At times I wonder why side mirrors are used at all during (endurance) racing, instead of camera's and monitors. I know, of course, that the C7.R uses a backup camera to complement the mirrors. But why the mirrors aren't replaced completely is beyond me. Regulations possibly?

what I will be looking at is to put on some side mirrors that I can actually remove very easily because all I use my car for is street driving (when the mirrors will be on) and standing 1/2 and full mile racing (where mirrors serve no purpose and will be removed. Primarily for aero benefit but some small weight loss is not bad either.
So I haven't taken the door apart yet to see how it would work but initial thoughts are to remove the power stock side mirrors and replace with something like these APRs or perhaps some craftsquare mirrors

and then, if it works as I hope, I can easily remove them when I do 1/2 mile racing
