Default Nitto Invo and GM Warranty

I searched but didn't come up with anything, or I missed it, it's been a rough week. Anyway, I thought I read a while back, that changing from OEM tires, could void the powertrain warranty. Is this true? I need to change tires on the Z, and am considering the Nitto Invos. Also, if I was to go with the Nitto's, should I stay with stock size, or is there a difference that would require a slight change? I've looked around a ton, and I really don't want to drop $16-1700 for another set or GY Eagle Supercars.

I have never heard of a car manufacturer voiding a warranty just by switching tires. You should be ok.

by the way the rears with fit 345's with no problem and they look like they belong that way. Either way, they're great tires and I would have put those on except I got an incredible deal on some stock GY's for the rears.

Would you also suggest the 345's for the rear, or stick with the 325's?

No way in heck non-oem tires will have any impact on warranty.

Yeah, I had to make an appointment for my daughters car, so I asked my service manager for the heck of it. He said no way it would void any warranties, unless I bought the wrong size tire, and it destroyed something on the rear by rubbing etc. Now I just need to decide on what rear tire size. Do I go with 325 Invo's, or 345 Invo's...

Search for issues when using the 345's with stock sizes in the front. It will set a light on.

I looked, but I must be missing them. I do know I don't want any issues, maybe I should just stick with stock sizes.

For OEM Fitment. Nitto Invo 345/30/19 rear and 275/35/18 front. We have done a ton of the Invos on OEM wheels without any issues. You have to remember the overall rolling diameter is what is important. the 325 are 26.87 inflated the 345's are 27.17 that will not cause any adverse condition in the driveline or handling of the Z.

After a 2nd search, I read about the engine braking/tc messages, I don't want to see those messages on the DIC.

And that is precisely the reason I went with stock sizes in the Invos.

Those sizes will not make those things show up any earlier than they would occur with the stock size tires. If you look at tire diameters between different manufacturers and models of tires you can sometimes find that much variation with tires that are supposed to be the same size.

Traction Control problems only raise their ugly head when the front and rear tire sizes are close to equal or where some idiot puts a smaller diameter tire on the rear than on the front.

Engine Drag Control is a reduction of engine braking by the PCM so the rear wheels don't break loose under drop throttle conditions on a slippery surface. A small diameter difference of 1% where the rear tire is just a bit larger isn't going to affect the drag control function.

As long as you keep the ratio between the front and rear tire diameters within 1-2% of the stock ratio you will be fine.

I just ordered the stock size, $1150 installed. They said it shouldn't take more than 5 days to get them in, hopefully the snow will be gone by then

Wow, this thread came back from the grave. Had the Nitto's installed, so far so good. The ride is smooth, they grip well, and are much more quiet than the GY's.
