I purchased a 2007 Z06 with 1,555 miles and haven't picked it up from the dealer but thinking of exhaust mods. DID THE 2007 come with the NPP exhaust so I could use the MILD TO WILD.???

All C6Z's come with NPP...standard feature.

Yep.....NPP was OPTIONAL on 2008+ LS3's (albeit 2.5" instead of 3" inlets) but part of the LS7 package since inception

Z06 has ALWAYS had performance exhaust (all C6 years). The NPP option came available on BASE Vettes in '08.....makes no difference to you and your Z06....yes, mild 2 wild WILL work in your Z06, but base C6 Vettes MUST have NPP for M2W to work....

2007 Z06 does NOT have an NPP exhaust. The NPP is only available from 2008 and up on a C6.

Your Z06 does have a BiMode exhaust (all Z06's do) but it is not an NPP. Same principal in design but different pipe sizes and different muffler designs.

However, you will be able to do the M2W switch...just thought I would clarrify...the comment about the '08 seemed a little misleading to me. I would just pull the fuse for now...plus this saves you a few $$$. Not as convenient as a M2W, but form, fit, and function are no different.

SO if I buy the M2W, It will still work on my 2007 STOCK Z06 EXHAUST by just pulling the fuse? I just wont be able to switch between the Mild and Wild Sound, it will just be WILDall the time?

I am now more than confused! lol

Yes, any of the exhaust controllers will work on a stock '07 Z06. The mild to wild is just one of a number of brands of controllers available. Pulling the fuse lets the exhaust run open all the time, any controller gives you a choice of open or closed.

Just remember, you don't have an NPP, you have a Z06 BiMode exhaust.

The main point is that you have a bi-mode exhaust (if it is still stock) that will work with the M2W switch, which will allow you to keep the baffles open or closed as you choose. If you just pull the fuse, then the baffles will remain open all the time, they will never close.

I have an 06 Z and have had the M2W switch for a few years. However, even with the baffles open it just wasn't as aggressive as I wanted it to be. So I ordered the BB Fusion exhaust which is also bi-modal. Now I have a great sounding exhaust when the baffles are open but also can close the baffles when I'm on the road to eliminate the drone.

Let me confuse you a little more.

Once you install the mild to wild controller and switch to open and close the baffles at will, you will eventually feel that "wild" mode is not loud enough. Then you might consider the "Muffler Mod" which will make the "wild" mode sound louder without affecting the quiet mode.

This mod is cheap, anywhere from $250 ~ $300.

You can research the "Muffler Mod" by using the search function.

I have the Muffler Mod done and love it.

Of course you might be happy with just the "mild to Wild" switch, and leave it at that.

Also, just to note the differences between base/GS NPP and Z06 bi-mode...

NPP- 2 1/2" over-axle, unperforated straight pipe in the muffler.

Z06 Bi-Mode- 3" over-axle, perforated straight pipe in the muffler.

The Z06 muffler mod is simply replacing the perforated tube with a straight tube (like NPP)
The purpose of the perforations in the exhaust is to reduce high frequency hissing tones. The perforations are in the Z06 bi-mode mufflers and in all C6 exhaust tips.

Sheesh! Mr Technical. Yeah, you're right NPP is the option code for 2008+ LS3's.......but I think he got the idea!!

Also, you can do the mild to wild with a $3 toggle switch into the fuse port......open = wild.....closed = mild, and it won't start up open every time unless that's what you want!!

Yeah, **** gets a little retentive sometimes. It was just an fyi in case the OP wasn't aware of the differences or any future searchers come across the thread.

I also did the same DIY exhaust switch. I've sold a few to my lazy friends for roughly 1/3 the price of the "official" switch, but I can't offer here them since I'm not a forum vendor. And don't think I can do a DIY thread since it would, again, conflict with forum vendors.
Feel free to pm for details if anyone wants to know about how easy it is.

As long as we are being technical here , the car starts up with the baffles open all the time, as it requires the vacuum to close them, although it only takes a split second for them to close.

Another technicality here, the Z06 does have 3" pipes, but they reduce down to 2 1/2" going into the mufflers, so the Z06 isn't a 'true' 3" exhaust.
