Default 10.88@129.60mph 1.659 60ft at Crapitol Raceway!!!

Now with VIDEO! of first pass!
http://s273.photobucket.com/albums/j...t=MVI_1552.mp4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mXy8B7aESs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMb1ygf51VI

Added more video.... I can tell in my fastest pass the 1-2 shift was horrible! So there was alot of ET lost with shifting speed and incorrect shift RPM.

Well the quest for 10's is over already and we are going for better times hopefully soon pending weather I went to Capitol Raceway last nite (friday July 2nd) to try to better my 11.11 at 129mph times done at cecil last week and got the permanent boot for sub 11.49's at cecil county dragway.
I rushed home from work got home by 5:15pm, changed my cloths, double checked I had everything and out the door the wife and i went for the 1.5hour drive to Capitol Raceway. We get there and went tech in right away. The tech guy says if you run 11.49 or better you need a bar. I told him i think it'll be in the high 11's...ish.
Pulled up to the staging lanes and sit for about 30minutes. The staging lanes that are up hill so you have to keep starting your car or let it idle I make it up the line. Everyone told me Capitols track prep is less than desirable. I took the typically ran at 20psi rear mickey thompson drag radials down to 16psi right away. I did a big burnout and pulled up to the line almost hitting the 2 cones that are barely wide enough for the car to go through to keep cars in the groove I guess. I brought the RPM's up to 3000 (thinking keep it low I'm gonna spin). Car dead hooks and falls on its face but recovers fairly well and boogies out. I go through the gears and say well with the bog and air temps I'll keep into and get a idea.

84*degrees outside-195*engine coolant temp on launch
1st PASS:
60ft-1.693-Bad bog
330ft-4.719
1/8mi-7.156
1/8mph-103.42
1000ft-9.232
1/4-10.985
1/4mph-129.80

So I was surprised to say the least when i got the slip and no warnings yet. I decide to let the car cool, change the clutch fluid. I go back to the line not changing the tire pressures due to felt that it was good just need to changed launch RPM.

74*degrees outside- engine coolant 182* on launch
2nd PASS:
60ft-1.659-very slight bog but damn good!
330ft-4.628
1/8mi-7.053
1/8mph-102.51-slightly over reved 2nd gear looking at 60ft on board
1000ft-9.118
1/4mi-10.880
1/4mph-129.60-VERY slightly tapped the rev limiter in 3rd just held it to long

This came with no warning just a smile from the ticket lady (I think she knew i was famous)

I immediately pull the car back in the staging lanes due to they close at 10pm and it was 9:34pm already. There were several break downs and they do take their time cleaning up which is fine with me I guess. Better safe than sorry something was missed for a extra run.

70*outside-185*engine coolant temps on launch
3rd PASS:
60ft-1.692-light spin
330ft-4.644
1/8mi-7.071
1/8mph-103.77-damn nice mph!
1000ft-9.145
1/4mi-10.895
1/4mph-130.07-NICE!

At this point of getting the slip the gentleman pulls me over to the left before the time slip tower. Looks at the slip, looks at the # on the car. Goes back to the timeslip tower. Comes back looks at me, looks at the slip. Gives me the slip and goes to walk away. Turns around and says you need a little more than a Tshirt when running like that FYI. I politely appologized for my ignorance and went on my way
Overall I'm very happy with the performance of the car with the mods at the track that I ran at. I found it odd the car didnt pull better 1/4mi MPH in the cooler less humid air but thats hard to compare from track to track sometimes. I also figured on my way home that at Cecil I had ran 11.11 at 129mph in 80*'s and humid with a horrible 1.84 60ft. Now going from 1.84 60ft to 1.65 60ft I would've thought the car would've dropped an easy .25-.30ish. Which wouldve taken me on the same day down to approx 10.86-10.81's. Now i have a better 60ft and better air and MPH didnt pick up much in the 1/8 or 1/4mi and my ET didnt come down to where it should have. I feel the car has ALOT more in it and alot of potential to achieve my goal of 10.5x's at 132mph in the fall/winter in the air that we're fortunate to have in our area. Going to try to figure out the DA of last nite. I'm guessing around +500DA but want to be pretty close for my records/logs.
Calculated DA was +700DA at the time of the last pass. Not bad... but I know theres better coming in a few months!

Thank you to everyone thats helped with building the car, the parts, the motivation and support from my fellow forum members!

Sweet, another documented FAST Z06 and you didn't blow up

I marvel at the skill it takes to run the 1/4 mile events since I'm no good at it. Sounds like you had a good time and did us proud.

But will they let you back in next time w/o a roll bar????

There, now you see??

You would have had me doing all of that work opening up the list for nothing.

You ran 11.096 bone stock and on drag radials, and you want me to put up this 11.112 et in the bolt ons category as a bolt on time too?

I'll do that if that's what you want, but it would seem to me that the car with bolt ons is going to top that 11.112 sooner rather than later making me have to go in and edit the list when that happens.

Thanks and I still love your board name
As for the dyno #'s not sure. Technically the times/mph are more than possible with 475rwhp so we'll see. Things are pointing to the car probably is making around 490's maybe, but still low IMO At 500rwhp of my goal for the car, it should trap close to 134mph with my style driving and the tracks/DA/elevations I get to take advantage of. I'm confident in a 132mph pass come cooler weather and better driving. I may need to get lighter front wheels, take some weight out of the car every where I can and shift better and smoother launch. I actually impressed myself with the launches and the stock clutch that I've smoked badly several times is hanging in there with keeping the fluid changed a faster release of the clutch and not looking for complete traction is helpful.

Nice! Even though the runs look good, the weather right now is just aggravating to get a good mph/et.

For sure you got yourself a mid 10's car @ 132mph,

G/L!

Yup Walter you started a damn epidemic Sad thing guys selling cars before wives these days. I loved the good ole days where the wives were traded in for new models not cars geesh whats the world coming to?

Just need to get my pics and videos up and regretfully there will be a small bump for you walterm32. However we wont forget you and YOU better be back!
I appreciate the confidence in the 10.5x's. I'm sure theres gonna be a wall at some point thats gonna be tough to get past but it'll come down and I'll go screaming past it. I'm thinking I may get stuck in the 10.6x's but I can't get to upset at that. Its just gonna be nice to have a FAST bolt on only car
