Akrapovic Exhaust Shipment
Hey guys….
Many of you know about the Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust for the C6 Corvette Z06/ZR1, and how it has been discontinued by the manufacturer despite there still being quite a lot of demand for it here in the USA. Well guess what! Thanks to the numerous customers who have continued to express interest in this top shelf exhaust system, and with the help of the Akrapovic US distributor, we have worked out a deal for a limited production run of these systems which will be coming to the states soon. If you’re interested in this system, now will most likely be the last chance you get to grab one. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good!!
Akrapovic is a European company that has been around for years and made a name for themselves providing exhausts for high end sport bikes. They then brought that success to the high end sports car world (ie; BMW, Porsche, Nissan GTR, etc....) The exhaust systems they craft are literally a work of art.
Made of the absolute best materials, when you open up an Akrapovic exhaust system it will make you feel like a kid at Christmas time getting the present that you always wanted. The welds are perfect, the tips beautiful, the finish will simply amaze you. You can smell the quality instantly. The Akrapovic Slip-On system for the C6 Corvette Z06 and ZR1 sounds absolutely unbelievable without any drone. Additionally, this is one of the few systems that will keep the factory dual-mode functionality in place (so the flaps in two of the exhaust ports open and close at different RPM’s).
Akrapovic only makes exhaust systems for the C6 ZR1 and Z06, and the term "Slip-On" is used to indicate an axle-back exhaust setup. This new batch of systems will be available with Carbon Fiber tips.
More info on this system and a video at the link below:
Akrapovic Stainless Steel Corvette Exhaust
Remember, this is your chance to get the finest exhaust for your C6 Corvette Z06 or ZR1. Nothing else compares in terms of looks or sound, so get ‘em while you can!
Thanks guys!

Your statement is not true.
Do you have personal experience with the Akrapovic Z06 mufflers?
With catted headers, and an aftermarket cam they do have some drone between 1500 and 1800 rpm in 4th, 5th, and 6th gear with the valves closed. Not as bad as B&B but not as good as Corsa.
With stock headers, cats, and cam there is no drone with the Akrapovic mufflers. The Akrapovic mufflers were developed in Europe on a stock C6/Z06. I have both configurations. Modified Z06 with Akrapovic axle back system and a ZR1 with stock manifolds and cat back Akrapovic system. No drone in the ZR1. Some drone in the Z06.
If you would like to go for a test ride to hear for yourself, call me. I am local to you.

Drone, agreed....on a Z06 with a big cam, LTs, and using the Akropovic x-pipe with no cats I get a little drone between 1600 and 1800 with the valves closed, but I really only notice it in 5 and 6th. At 2000 it's so quiet you'd almost think the exhaust is stock.
It's a small price to be paid for the sound you get the rest of the time, but on the highway with my wife I either speed up (to get to 2000 rpm) or use 5th gear.
Cheers, Paul.

Thanks. I am trying to make sure they don't drone using stock headers, stock engine.
I have listened to that video, but its not a stock car and its a video from someone trying to sell the systems. Was looking for customers feedback =)
I am looking to add these and swap them for my corsa's, while I get my procharger installed.
Thanks

Would love to go for a ride.....Will try to catch up with you this week.
I do not have experience with Akrapovic on a Vette with headers......Do on a mostly stock car.
Drone is one of those subjective things....I was told with headers there was still not drone. Obviously, you think otherwise...
Thanks for keeping me honest....
Jim

Drone subjective, yep...and it might not be as noticable if it wasn't so freakin quiet at 2000, and 1400 for that matter
Actaully when I was driving last night with the flaps closed, I didn't notice it at all because I had the radio cranked up fairly loud, but the volume level was such that conversation with a passenger would not have been easy. There are some benefits to driving alone.
Cheers, Paul.

I just had my Akrapovic Titanium EVO Exhaust system installed on my 2010 Z06 and all I can say is……WOW!!!!! Everything that Jim has told you about this system is true. You will not be disappointed. My Vette mechanic who installed the system was in disbelief. While the sound and the visual presence are each in a class by themselves, when combined, you really have something special. This system is worth every penny of the investment. I do not hear any drone what-so-ever in either of the baffle modes at various speeds. As soon as I can, I will post pics. Jim and his team at Southern Car Parts do a great job for all of us here on The Corvette Forum.
