New Best 10.710@131.93mph today @CECIL County Dragway
Well I had plans to go to a car show today but at the last minute at 7:20am I decided it seemed nice out and wanted to test if Cecil would remember the car from 2 months ago getting the boot. So I went down stairs swapped out the wheels, checked the fuel level and through the miss in the car and drove to cecil behind every slow poke I could find. Arrived at Cecil at 9:45am. Made my first pass at 9:57am. I planned for running 1/8mi till I figured the car out and make a full pass or so till kicked if not keep at it. Set tire pressures in the rear tires at 16psi. Fronts were at 32psi. Coolant temp at approx 190deg's. Well first pass was a new best 1/8mi: Launch RPM 3500rpm
R/T-.030
60ft-1.667-Car bogged pretty bad
330ft-4.631
1/8mi-7.030
1/8mph-103.16-shut the car down
1000ft-9.603
1/4mi-12.737
1/4mph-64.80mph
So I went in the pits, aired up the front tires to 42psi, rear tires 20psi in hopes of saving the stocker clutch getting the rear tires to lightly haze on the launch. 2nd pass after letting the car tool to 160deg's coolant temp. Launch RPM approx 3800rpm
R/T-.410
60ft-1.627-new best light haze of clutch not tires
330ft-4.563
1/8mi-6.961
1/8mph-103.57-shut the car down
1000ft-9.254
1/4mi-12.099
1/4mph-68.71mph
After this pass I was killing myself saying OMG I should've kept into it crap its not gonna get better than that. So I let the car cool and worry about making another clean pass and its only getting hotter thoughout the day. Last pass at 11:39am and car cooled to approx 160*deg coolant temp. Launch RPM approx 3800-3900rpm
R/T-.212
60ft-1.631
330ft-4.560
1/8mi-6.953
1/8mph-103.79
1000ft-8.992
1/4mi-10.710
1/4mph-131.93mph
I was extremely pleased when I got the slip and shocked all at the same time. I went up into the lanes and parked off to the side. Figuring I was in trouble but gonna ride it out and see. Shortly there after the Same tech who kicked me out last time telling me dont come back will I get the bar etc... the same one that teched me in today and didnt remember me and acted like my best friend comes up and says. "I'm guessing you know what was your last pass right?". I politely said yup and joked with him and said thank you and we both went about our ways. Very happy to have these ET's w/o raising the car up from its lowered stance for better weight transfer, floor mats etc all still in the car.
For fun sakes I'd like to mention that the car dynos 475rwhp on a dynojet 224 SAE.
Future mods:
CLUTCH!!!!!
Electric waterpump
Light weight aluminum hatted front rotors
Remove the passenger seat
light weight battery
Roll bar??? MAYBE!

Thanks Dr. Ron.... it was some what nice out today. In the mid 60's around 65-68degrees approx. Track prep was good and it was nice to get in, get a new best and go home. It would be alot nicer to get alot of runs and practice but it was only getting hotter and hotter so I figured the ET wasn't going to get much better, the clutch wasn't gonna get better I might aswell go for it.
I'm looking hard for those 10.49's with bolt ons this winter!! Hopefully I get to meet you at one of the Atco/MIR rentals this year.

Why thank you Gary. It's all in the technique on how you apply the prewax, wax, post wax and the polish to the top and middle coats with a freshly used diaper. Come to the MIR smackdown and we'll teach you how make that pig go fast!!!!!!

Will you have a class that we can sign up for? If so, sign me up. I'll be sure to let robz and Ranger know as they may need your tutelage also since they are the ones who taught me.

Lane_change its definitely in the waxing procedures. I'll have Gary2004Z06 and RobZ report back after my class with them.
As for the traps...a couple things honestly. I am close to some very nice tracks with good track prep, closer to sea level and good air in the fall/winter/spring. I run skinnies in the front of the car and run low on gas to reduce weight aswell. Those are some very important things that alot of guys on here just dont get to have in their corner. So i'm very lucky to have that.
You have to do smart mods, make each mod work as well as they possibly can or better than they can with little tweaks etc to make perfect. Driving is going to be one of the most important parts to this if you have the above the rest is up to you. I haven't seen many C6Z's dyno as low as mine does and run like that. So throw the dyno #'s out the door IMO. Its a good base for seeing gains but not for bragging lets put it that way.
You will see me in the #2 spot on the bolt on list in the next few months and I will do everything I can to put this bolt on C6Z into the 10.499999's and traps as high as 134mph hopefully!
