Battery Maintainers
Any recommendations would be appreciated, on kind and where to connect in a Z06, I currently use Schumachers Maintainers on my Harleys.

I have used the Deltran Battery Tender Plus maintainers for over 15 years and am very happy with them. I usually have to replace the battery in my 1985 Corvette about every 9 years since it is always connected to the maintainer. On my Z06 I connect the permanent leads under the hood to the positive post next to the fuse box and to the ground connection (existing bolt) on the frame rail between the fuse box and radiator. To connect it, I run the wire from the maintainer thru the wheel well up thru the upper A-arm. I hope this helps.

I use C-Tek 3300 battery tenders on all my cars. I have used many over the years and really like these. As far as hooking it up, nothing fancy for me. Red to positive, black to negative.

I use a battery tender. I hook the positive clip on the terminal under the hood designated for jumping the car with jumper cables if the battery is dead. I hook the negative clip on a frame or header bolt for grounding. seems to work just fine on the z06 and my pontaic G8.

Used on 2001 Z06 through today and no problems..

Deltran Battery Tender. I've used one on my airplane for 3 years and it has worked flawlessly. Deltran has had no negative feedback at all and is highly recommended. Now I use the same model for my Vette.

I have a CTEK 7002. It is like the 3300 but with a recondition mode that I've used on some other vehicle batteries. CTEK also just announced a new model, XS 0.8, but haven't seen any addition information on it. I use the supplied wire-in eye-terminals, the positive on the charging bolt under the hood and the negative on a frame bolt nearby. Nice clean installation - just plug the adaptor into the charger and plug into the wall. I use the clamps for other batteries around the garage that need a charge.
Some Z06 owners have wired their chargers directly to the battery and run the charging plug out by the license plate. That makes for a nice set-up too - you don't have to open the hood to connect the charger. Just make sure you don't drive off with it still connected.
Cheers - Jim

I use the float chargers from Harbor Freight( on sale quite often for $4 -$6) on three of my four cars and my mower, and they work great. I connect the positive lead to the lug that is under the fuse box lid in the engine compartment and the negative lead to the frame grounding point on the frame between the fuse box and the firewall. Since I'm quite old, and with a failing memory, I connect under the hood and leave the hood up about 2 inches, to remind me that the float charger is connected, and not to drive off with it still connected.
With the money I saved on the purchases of the inexpensive Harbor freight float chargers, I have enough money left over to purchase premium Mobil1 oil filters at $13 each instead of the cheapo AC Delco oil filters at $4 each. Some people say that the money I saved would be better spent on memory lessons.

No Corvette tax at Harbor Freight.....
I use 3 on my Vettes. My brother uses 2 on his boat batteries and my other brother uses 3 on my nephew's Vette and 2 ATVs...
I give them away each year at my Vette Club's Xmas party as our under $5 gift....
Not one has failed in the last 6 years....

Sounds exactly like my set up...
Bought both of mine at Amazon too. They were under $25 each with free shipping.
