Default Weight savings mods to your C6 Z06!! Sticky??

Hello gents.... Let's have a thread going where we can all post up ideas and mods that have been either done or contemplating on doing to reduce the weight of your car!!

Now we all know that ripping the interior out will save weight but I'm looking for mods that keep all of your stock functionality and comforts and saving weight!!

For instance... Most after market two piece rotors seem to weigh less than stock and I have seen savings of upto 32lbs by doing this mod!!

Changing out the stock clutch for another lite weight unit...

Also include the pros n cons of your mod along with the weight saving #s

changing out complete exhaust with long tubes, no cats, and a light weight cat back will make tremendous gains. A lightweight battery, take the stock seats out and put in some fiberglass race type seats (huge gain there). Take off heavy clutch and replace with aluminum flywheel. Get lighter rims, tires rotors...you can easily be in the sub 2900lbs without touching the interior.

I couldn't beleive how heavy the stock exhaust was when I removed it. Saved a bunch there. Also the seats are very heavy. After than you got to spend big $$$.

Before I did some of these mods my car weight 3143 with all fluids, 1/2 tank of gas, stock exhuast and stock seat. This was with coil-overs and no leafs. I would imagine with just the seat and exhuast, I am down another 100+/- lbs.

I have weighed the OEM Speedline Splitspoke Z06 wheels and below are the numbers.

~Front wheels weighed in at 22.5lbs. each with centercap (after powdercoat).

~Rear wheels weighed in at 25lbs. each with centercap (after powdercoat).

Note: I also weighed the OEM chrome wheels (made by Speedline Italy) and they were the same as above.

I changed the top and halo out to aftermarket carbon pieces. They were 3 lbs. lighter each, Total of 6 lbs. I did it more for the look, But it was nice to save a little weight off the top of the car.

My car's a totally stock 06' 1lz running Hoosier R6's on factory Speedline's for track day's. I'm tipping the scale's about 175 lbs myself, so thinkin' the occasional track day set up is pretty good.

You will find most logical, and some illogical weight loss mods done to our 2008 Halltech Ultraleggera Z06, including ZR1 carbon ceramic rotors/brakes, carbon fiber Pfadt drive shaft, ZR1 hood, a 9 lb Braille Lithium battery, full titanium exhaust system with headers, Halltech Carbon Fiber Super Bee and Beehive, aluminum flywheel/ZR1 clutch, and much more:
