[Z06] Wheel spacers??

Wheel spacers??
EDIT : Pictures begin on page 2
I can not find any z06 specific wheel spacers anywhere! The OEM wheels are sunk in too far, and I am not ready to make a move on all new wheels. I have lowering bolts, and NT05/NT05R's ready to be installed, and would like to do wheel spacers at the same time.
Ultimately, I will install some Pfadt coilovers also.
I know Pfadt use to make 1/4" and 1/2" spacers, but I called and all they have now are 1/8" spacers.
Any suggestions? Oh and yes, I searched.

Go to home depot or lowes and buy some 7/16 zinc washers they fit right over the studs without any movement you can add or subtract as many as you need to do the job but i wouldn't go to far.I have done this and it worked well just my 2 cents I had bought some wheel spacer's but they didn't fit as well as I liked went this route and it worked well You may need three or four per stud depending

I actually gave Pfadt a call yesterday regarding this. They said they MAY make another batch of 1/4" spacers, but they were not sure, and they said if they do, it could be 6 weeks from now. Sounds like I may give DRM a call. But I am also on the fence about what sizes to use. I have 345 NT05Rs for the rear as well, and I believe my fronts are 275 (I bought the Z used so I am not 100% positive). I was thinking 1/2" on the front and the rear?? I could have probably gone a little larger on the rear, but the sidewall on the 345 is already sticking out past the face of the wheel.
Any opinions here? Or pics?

I've got 1/2" on the rear and 1/4" on the front (from Pfadt) and this spaces the wheels/tires perfectly (PS2s 345/295). Thing is, with anything more than a 1/4" spacer you really should have longer studs. While the studs aren't particularly expensive it's pretty big job changing them all out. I got longer studs for all 4 corners from Pfadt when I got the spacers, then I got open ended lug nuts from NAPA.
Cheers, Paul.

Any chance you could post some quick pictures of how your wheels fit?

When I put a straight edge against the lower sidewall on the ground and place it upright and against the outside of the fender lip, the top sidewall is only about 1/16" from touching the straight edge. This is the same for front and rear when using the 1/4" and 1/2" spacers. Previously I had the 1/8" spacers on the front and needless to say they resulted in the front tires being set just a little less wide than the rear.
Now that you mention it, I guess with the 1/2" spacers I might not need open ended lugs, but I think with only a 1/4" spacer an open lug is necessary. Actually I can't say I ever even tried to use closed lugs, so I can't say for sure. For some reason I just like the idea of the open lugs better.
Cheers, Paul.
PS. I've got the ARP 3.25" studs, looking at Randy's pictures I'm starting to think open lugs are necessary regardless of spacer.

We can do custom spacers also, like the 4mm for Brembo brakes, 1/8, 1/4. 3/16. Pretty much everything but the 1/2 spacer. At the 1/2 you will lose the hub center and we need that ect 1/8 to build the hub and have it strong enough.
Here are a couple items that we offer.
When wheel spacers are needed, none are better than DRM spacers. Machined from 6061T561 billet aluminum. This material was selected to ensure accurate torque of the wheel against the spacer, and it will stay there. They fit and center perfectly on Corvette hubs because of precise machining tolerances. The spacers are turned on a lathe within .0005 of parallel to ensure a prefect run-out of the tire. All sharp edges have been deburred for a nicer, stronger product. The spacers are black anodized for a long lasting finish. Spacers thicker than 3/8” feature an integral hub for the wheel to center onto. Made in the USA!!! By the same company since 1988
I did this picture to help explain the differences in wheel studs and their size.
If you have any more questions you can find me here, PM, email (drm@dougrippie.com) And 763-477-9272
Thanks
Randy

Just ordered 3/8" front, and 1/4" rear spacers w/ the 1/2" longer wheel studs from DRM. Should arrive next week! I'll have the studs/spacers/lowering bolts/tires all installed and aligned probably the weekend after this one. Should make it look just right, and I'll finally have a bit of traction
Eventually, I'll do wheels and some coil overs, but this will do for now.
Next up are some LG Longtubes.
Oh and, thanks to everyone who helped out, I appreciate it!

Just installed the spacers/studs/lowering bolts today..
The 1/4" rear is perfect with the lowering, and should fit the 345's without a issue. The 3/8" front is also perfect IMO. Maybe could use another 1/8" but I wanted to be safe, and not deal with any rubbing problems.
Gotta dial in the height a little more tomorrow, and I'll take some pics.
Thanks DRM for the spacers! Changed the whole car for the better

Anyone have pics of a car with spacers and stock Z06 wheels?
#17
Yup stock wheels. I will be doing the final height adjustment today. I could take some pics today, BUT the appearance may change once an alignment is done. So if you guys really wanna see pics, I'll take some now, but it might not be realistic until after alignment.
I was very irritated by the cheap look of the wheels being sunk in, and the off road truck style wheel gap. I'm in love with how it looks now!
