[Z06] Yellow brake caliper

why would you do that, Leave it original.
To the OP - if you want them yellow, paint them yellow:
I would recommend doing a search on how to properly prep the surface for paint, and also keep any parts from getting sprayed that shouldnt be painted. I found this: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-p...-calipers1.htm
but you may be looking for something more z06 specific.

I'd recommend sending them to Mike (Corvette Pilot) - www.thepowdercoater.com.
Having painted a set of calipers using the Duplicolor 2-part epoxy, it's more trouble than it's worth. And it didn't hold up nearly as well as pc'ed ones. Mike does fantastic work at VERY reasonable prices.

Ya as the above poster stated, I would powder coat before I would paint. Most good coaters now can give you any color you can imagine, and the powder coating will never flake off.

Question~
If one were to powdercoat their calipers, wouldn't the heat applied during the curing process soften the calipers? I'm thinking the flexion occurring during application here. Wiould that cause your pedal to go "soft?"

Can only speak from experience, but my PC'ed calipers worked exactly as well as stock. No soft pedal for sure. And Mike can do almost any color - certainly any Corvette yellow. Had mine ZR1 blue on my '01 pewter coupe. Looked AMAZING!

I considered powdercoating when I wanted to change my calipers to yellow. I found it was cheaper to buy new yellow units on sale on ebay and then sell my old red units there as well. I think the cost to powdercoat was close to $600.00 and new units on sale were $1000.00 plus shipping. I bought the new calipers and my old units sold almost the same day for $550.00.

Looked at ebay and the new yellows are $1100.00 but they have a used set of reds that look to be selling for well over $700.00. $400.00 seems to be a pretty cheap price for new yellows.
