What is with all the Z06's for sale? With the amount of Z06's made compared with non Z06's, I wouldn't think I would see so many. I'm not complaining.

I have been wondering the same. I am in the market for a Z06 to replace my current '06 coupe and finding it difficult deciding which one or two to get serious about! Asking price is generally high except for one '08 that is priced about right. Dealers are as usual, very high priced, with eBay "buy it now" pricing being very very high! Perhaps these eBay sellers are setting the bar where it is! For me, the color is most important as are no mods [except exhaust] with at minimum, a 2LZ. I find almost no 3LZ's being offered. I hope the trend continues as I am in no big hurry to purchase.

chevy killed the z06 sales when they introduced the grandsport.
it copied the entire body, brakes and basically everything the z06 has except the engine. With the money they save over a z06 they can supercharger there ls3 motor and have a faster car then both the z06 and zr1.
btw id rather have a supercharged grandsport and put 40grand in my pocket instead of opting for a zr1 or z06.

I missed a couple of great deals on ZO6's neither of which were listed on the forum. What I'm seeing now for pricing is right at or above KBB. If you hear of a great deal on a 08 or 09 with low milage preferably in the southeast let me know. Thanks

Most are so over priced that I am considering trading in My wife's 08 (Indy) Convertible and buying a new all Black LT4 Convertible GS with an Auto for my wife. And adding a supercharger for Me. Hers only has 4400 miles. But maintaining 2 cars would be a lot of work and garage space. Will the drive train hold up on the GS? Is it OK that the auto trans does not have the Dry sump? Are they the same LS3 engines??
Please give advice. If anyone knows anything about this. Thanks

Classic GM move with the Grandsport....ridiculous. I've been seeing GS's pop up everywhere. You'd think they'd learned from the C4 ZR1 that with nothing to differentiate it from the others, sales suffer. Z06 sales are going to plummet with the GS available...no question.

Engine is the same... no dry sump on the auto as the trans will let go in high G cornering first. As for the topic... im in the market for a standard C6 and all these C6Z's for sale is depressing. There should be far more standard C6's for sale (and for me to choose from).

I am nowhere near as knowing as you guys, but I can recall when the first C6 Z06 came to market. There was one in my town at a dealership for about $99,000. I asked the salesperson about the car, and he said he was selling it on consignment for a customer. Also, that the price was about right for the market at the time.
Amazing what people paid back in 2005( or was it 06?) to be first into the new Z's.
And to see them now for 40K in "like new" condition amazes me.

People need to check out the advertised deals from forum vendor dealerships before listing their cars.
No one is going to pay you 60K for your 20K mile 2008 or 2009 z06 when they can get a 2lz from boardwalk for 68k brand new.
Buyers market.
I'm selling my 98 and I will be purchasing a C6 Z06, but it'll be in the 45-50k range, you can get alot of car for that kinda money.

I see this quite a bit. Not that the Z06 is a bad car, but pretty much all cars are taking a hit right now. And even a crazy low mileage used car is still a used car. If it were me I would pay the extra $5k or whatever knowing I have a brand new 2011 over a used 2009.
It really should filter down. Low mileage 07's shouldn't be fetching near the same coin as low mileage 08's.
The only reason I'm in the market for a Z06 (other than wanting one for a couple years) is the market. A few years back you couldn't dream of getting them for a decent price. And regardless of what I can afford I can't justify a $70k car. I've seen my fair share of Z's go in the high 30's. And I know for some that seems really unreasonable, but unfortunately the only thing unreasonable is a person's pride. It's not what you think it should be worth, but what the market dictates. You can always hold out and hope that the market is going to get better in the near future, but with the way things are going it's not looking like it.
A dealership a few hours away from me had an 06 with 20k miles that they were asking $38k for (looked really clean, didn't jump on it in time). And dealerships can charge more than the average private consumer.

i can only speak for myself, but i sold mine due to value going down. i had a 2001 zo6 that was going down in value faster than the enjoyment i got out of it. the car was paid for, but it was still costing me thousands of dollars just to sit in my garage. owned my car for exactly 2 years.
bought for 24,000 with 53,000 miles
sold for 18 with 55,500 miles a little over 2 years later.
when i sold the car, i had just put chrome wheels, brand new nitto tires all the way around. plus a some go fast goodies.
