Thanks for all the great feedback! It looks like mostly delt with the larger copmanies . All State, State Farm, Geico, Progressive, Nationwide ..... no corvette museum insurance?

Thing is, my truck alone with starte farm is closr to $1700/yr ... adding the z06 would probablly double $3400. Florida isn't insurance friendly. Perhaps it wont hurt to see a broker and shop the best price for 250/500.

that lower my bills website = very cool.

Seen one of the post about making a claim with Geico -- that bad huh? At least with state farm there is no issues with that part -- guess expansive has some piece of mind. How about Hartford - any good?

I got quoted $1632 a year with geico, $100 deductible, full coverage, rental included...I'm 25 and live in New Orleans. I've been with geico since I've got my license at 15 and never had a problem with claims...then again I never really had anything major (hail damage, theft damage, windshield damage)

Haggerty. Limited mileage, but if not a daily driver, it's way cheaper.

Just switched to Amica after being with Allstate for 41 years where they assured me I was getting a great deal, lol. 09Z, 02Z, 09 H3 Hummer, 500k liability,1000k deductable on comp and coll. Me and my wife, $1600.00 a year. They do yearly policies instead of 6 months. Allstate was $1935 on just the 2 Corvettes. They where giving me a great deal for them!
And by the way, Amica is the number one rated auto insurance company last 15 years in a row!

I have been with Geico for about 8 years and have tried all of the major companies and found Geico to be the best with the best customer care. Listen all insurance companies have their issues and they wouldn't be in business if they paid every claim.

I will say I had one claim, they paid it and never increased my price. I am also not the kind of guy that will enter a claim for a thousand or even a few thousand dollars. It is not worth it. I see insurance only being there for major accident that invovles several thousands of dollars. I don't understand why people with a $500 deductible would claim say a $1000 or even $1500 accident. After your deductible, was it really worth it?

geico claims service was extremely painful in my experience.

the Hartford is fantastic! I've shopped all the others, save for state farm, and I am happy with them.

I am 49, so my insurance is at least affaordable for my Z at $600 year. But Erie Group did tell me when I got this car they were going to insure me only because of long history with them. They under normal terms didnt want to insure this type of car due its cost and of course the HP rating. I found the fact that they wer telling me that they normally would NOT even insure this car.

Yep. My 6 mo. premium for my latest renewal was $436, with $1k deductable and maxed out coverage, plus basic insurance for my 04' civic. Geico is a good buy.

I went with an independent agency and wound up with The Hartford. They are not a small company in any way... they just don't have many commercials.

29yo, 2006 Z06, 100k/300k liability, $500 Ded. collision and comp, no mileage or driving constraints => $7-800/year, I think. I have 2 other cars on the policy so I could be off a little bit on the price.

everyone will have good and bad experiences with any company; just because one person has a bad claims experience with one company does not mean that is a standard business practice for that company. One thing I would recommend, if you are shopping based on customer service, speedy claims processing and overall company ratings, check out AM Best Company, Standard and Poors, etc.

Also, I see many people complain about "they jacked my rate up after 6 months for no reason" so they drop their carrier. Insurance carriers are constantly filing rate increases (and rate decreases) with the state; this is a highly regulated industry. Companies can't jack up your rate just because they want more money from you; there has to be a legitimate business reason for a rate increase. These rate filings are done all the time based on current claiming trends of the general public. For example in Florida; injury claims have recently sky-rocketed in certain areas to the point where many companies are losing a ton of money due to people thinking they hit the lottery when someone rear ends them, so in order to stay in the black, companies have to file for rate increase. I've heard of some companies even pulling out of specific cities and not writing policies due to how severe the problem is.

On the other hand, I will tell you that I just dropped Progressive because of a stunt they pulled related to their "discounts" they offer. They give you a "new policyholder discount" to rope you in, without even telling you that it drops off after the first 6 months. If they would have told me that I was getting a large discount that only lasted for the first 6 months, I wouldnt have bothered with them. This is something new they are doing, or at least did, and I was very frustrated when I called to find why there was a rate increase and was told my new policyholder discount dropped off, and made my rate higher than my last carrier I dropped for Progressive.

I also wouldnt recommend comparing others prices to your own, there are way too many factors other than age and driving history to determine rate.
