Default Swapping the T56 for a TR6060, is it drag and drop?

I'm having my T56 swapped for a TR6060, but I would like to know if the TR6060 has any additional sensors or can it just be swapped with the TR6060 as if it were being replaced with another T56?

The T6060 is an upgrade internally only , it changed on all 2008 and up, it is a 27 spline on the regular C6 and a 33 or 32 spline on the Z06, but it is the exact swap with the same sensors.

EDIT: The 08 TR6060 is a direct bolt on to your Z06. All the sensors will be direct plug in also.

now this is for the trans only correct? if you swap the rear diff you would need to change the cradle and modify the exhaust.

What about the cold grinding issue? If you swap out your T56 for a T60, will you run into that issue?

The 06 up diff are the same so it wouldn't matter. You can swap the 08 up trans/diff to 06-07 Z06 as a drop in. The external dimensions are the same.

That's hit or miss. I have upgraded the sintered bronze blockers to carbon blockers with great success.

Default You will like the upgarde

I just did mine shifts better and is a much stronger transmission. I went with carbon blockers and it makes no noise even cold. Rick at RTK56 just did mine. It was a direct bolt in from my 2006 Z06.

Yes, for a C5 install, you would need the C6 cradle, Pfadt offset mounts and modify the exhaust.

Hey sorry to bump an ancient thread but I'm looking to replace the t56 in my 2005 (not z06 obviously) with a 6060. Is it also a direct swap? Is there anything I should look out for?

No, it is not a direct swap. You need the complete z06 rear end, and other parts.

Rick, I know you give great info on the forum. On my 09 Z06 the dif lower drain, which is also the lower dif cooler line comes out the back of the dif and will not come out all the way as it interferes with the cradle. On the Z06 DIY dif oil change, the pics show that line coming out the bottom of the dif.

Was there a change from the early difs to the 09 or am I just looking at the DIY pics wrong?

The 09 diff does have the fitting toward the back compared to 06-08.

I just did the swap in my 06 z06. RKT built the tranny. Rick is a awesome person to deal with. He listens to what you have to say compared to another company. They just ask you a few questions and go this is the tranny and costs. Thanks bye. My clutch is a little noisy in neutral. I also have solid mounts. It grinds a little when its cold from 1st to 2nd but it feels solid as hell and can take a beating. I also have the zr1 5th and 6th gear upgrade. Damn thing even pulls hard in 6th...
