Default Best Tire Ever

I have tried the stock run craps, Invos, NT01 and Pirrelli Corsa.

My car is a stock Z06. I'm a very consistent driver and usually my laps are within .1 of a sec all day long.

After trying all these different tires (Same conditions) here are the results:
Run Craps ran a 1:28.4 (Noisy, low grip tire, very predictable)
Invos 1:27.6 (Smooth, most sidewall flex tire, not consistent)
NT01 1:26.2 (Harsh & Whiny, No warning before traction loss, takes a while to warm up)
Corsa 1:24.3 (Smooth & Whiny, Unbelievable Grip and very predictable, very short warm up required)

The Corsa is so good, it is within .1-.2 of the best Hoosiers and only a 1 sec away from the Mich Full Racing Slicks.

I'm really surprised no one on this form uses these tires. I nominate this tire as the best fit for a Z06 that is driven on the track and then on the streets.

the corsa is considered a competition tire. plus i don't see tire sizes that are stock sizes. you would have to run a 295 front, which is shorter and wider then stock maybe making the faster lap times. and not so much tire compound by itself.

Default i HAVE MY FAVORATE

I had the stock Good year RF's
Changed to PS2's non- RF's ran 2 sets in 15 months lots of milage and track time
Went to INVO's based on allot of they are good and are sticky

Well here's the best overall street track tire PS2's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The INVO's run much faster and better in the rain, (heavy, standing water on the track but THAT'S IT as far as performance. Dry performance is nothing, you're better with the RF Goodyears than the INVO's in the dry.

Dollar for dollar the PS2's are the tire for all around performance.

If you want to go to a DOT legal Slick like the NT-1's Or the Cup Sports then you can go that way but for a every day tire with performance NOTHING beats the PS2's non-RF.

Very friendly competition tire. I drove 140miles on then to and from the track with no problems. Very smooth on the highway and the bumps. I'm running the 295-30 fronts, but they have 285-30 in the catalog. I'm running 325-30-19's in the back.

The Invos had slightly better grip than OEM Run Flats, but the problem with them is consistency. My lap times with the Run Flats were all within .1 sec all day long where the Invos did vary greatly especially when you get them hot. I noticed the best results always comes in the 2nd or 3rd lap with Invos. After than, the OEM Run Flats are more consistent and is faster.

Try the Corsa and you will not go with any different tire.

A friend of mine have a 997 Porsche GT3 that comes with Mich Cups from the factory. He is a very good driver and the best he could achieve was 1:27.7 with the Cups. He went from Cups to Corsa and now his best was 1:26.6. By the way, he also tried Hoosiers R6 and only ran 1:26.3. That is how good the Corsa's are.

Isn't the wear rating on the Corsas an 80? My friend just put them on his Ford GT but he hasn't had a chance to try them out. He went with 345's and they are huge.

Thanks for the post brother. I will soon have 800+ rwhp and didnt want to run the Hoosiers daily. I will try these.

I don't know where you can buy them from in the states. I got two 295-30-18 fronts and two 325-30-19 rears for a total of $2300.

Does any of the sponsors carry Pirelli tires?

I think that is a cheap price to pay for 4 seconds on the track and the ability to drive the car back home.

6K in Motons will not shave this much off a stock Z06 times running Run Flats.

I track my car 4-6 times a month until the season ends. I usually run through two sets of tires and two sets of rotors and pads a season.

I'm happy with my NT-05's but I do hear great things about the Corsa's...

We have great deals on tires!

Let me know if you have any questions.

How much camber are you running with the Corsas? One thing keeping me from going to the hoosiers on the z06 is the amount of camber needed for the slicks would kill the street tires. Currently looking at the MPSC's, but these look like another good option. Both are pretty pricey, but at least they are a bit more street friendly as I drive to the track. thanks- Dan

What size Corsa do you run and is that on stock Z06 wheels?
