Default ZO6 Carbon hood ?

Is anyone selling the carbon hoods? Painted? Did search, could not find anything. Love the hood without ZR1 window. Thanks for any help.

acs and slp make one for $1499. But will need prep and paint so either way you go it's going to be at least 3k.

Or you might look into Southern Car Parts-Exterior parts then looks for hoods. They have a few styles for sale. My preference is MCH heat extractor hoods with clear center's. I only wish I could afford the Jim's beautiful carbon fiber hood. By the time I had one of his shipped then painted I gues I'd have close to 4k invested. Maybe I'll hit the lottery this week!

Seems like a guy In Fort Wayne was selling some pretty cheap.....until he got caught by the cops. The place he stole them from was the shop that paints the CF hoods for GM. When he gets out, you might check with him to see if he had an extra one stashed that wasn't taken for evidence.

I have been interested in the same thing as the original poster. I am not willing to pay 3k. There is a vendor that sells Zr style hood like halltech with a cf top and a fiberglass bottom. He sells it for around 600 I think. I have been talking to him about doing the same with an exact Rep of the carbon z06 hood.

I've thought about this also but it seems like those hoods are very hit or miss with fit/finish. I would never pay 3-4k for one either though. Just personal preference but six in one, half a dozen in the other :shrugs:

Our take off GT2 hood is paint matched perfectly Jetstream Blue and is for sale for $4000 plus shipping. Painting is around $2,000 to have it done by a professional shop, saving that part of the process. Shipping is around $250

I do like the look of the Halltech hood, I am just not going for the GT look on my Z. I would like the stock ZR carbon hood...without the OEM price.

Halltech - is it possible? If you had enough interest, say 10-15 members would you be willing to build one and use us as your test market/advertisers? Of course, at a responsible price.
