Gotta love it, hot rodding your Z06 on Christmas Day in Chicago!!
Well, I do believe this is a first in 18 years of vette ownership, driving and HOT RODDING my Z06 Vette on Christmas Day (in Chicago metro area) and roads pretty much salt free, sunny and 44 degrees!! 
Did the gifts with the family in the morning, nice Christmas breakfast and then just came back from a power blast in my Z06, going for a 1/2hour drive, and practicing my 1/4 mile technique at my local industrial hot rod test and tune sight!
Had to back off the thottle for a moment as she started to get squirrly in second gear. 
Off to my brothers for Christmas with the rest of my family there and the Mrs. and I will be taking the Vette there (first time on Christmas ever!)
What a great easy December this has been in Chi-Town, and the rest of the week looks like another week of having the Vette out (just in time for my Christmas vacation).
Heck, I might even take my 1969 Plymouth out of storage for a power blast this week!

You guys in Florida and AZ, and CA, have it made, I wish I was down there year round (I can take the heat and humidty in the summer for the trade offs of no winter).

I remember Christmas day 1982 was a warm one. Records show it as having a high of 62* in Chicago that day.
Good to hear of your fun trip---now take out the RoadRunner before the day is over.
