Cool I guess but motor trend is one of the least respected automotive publications ever. I think if this came from Lowrider it might mean more (facetious)

I am surprised they didnt bring up the "tires" once again. In the original article they made it sound like the '12 Z06 was only able to set those records because it had "near slick race tires".
Of course the 911 GT2 RS has them as well not to mention the old '08 Viper ACR too.... they never made a big deal about the tires back then....

The bottom line is that the '12 Z06 when optioned right is the closest thing to a street legal race car you can buy! That says a lot after 7 years of production with fairly minor changes.....

Note the "Honorable Mention" for the 2011 Z06 with the PS2s (not the radical Cup tires) - its figure 8 number would still beat every other car in that list including the GT2RS! Simply put, not enough credit has been given to the superb magnetorheological shocks and suspension setup - also the prime reason why the GS places so high on this list. These cars now have the chassis that they always deserved, and given their sound engineering and tech transfer from the racing program it's no wonder that they are the cars to beat!
